Both my husband & I snore (we vouch for each other). His technique for stopping me is a bit effective - a palm over my nose & mouth until I wake up & can be urged to roll over.
Camping? Well, we declare ourselves early & some site managers have us pitch in a distant corner. Others just shrug & grin.
  • I was a pretty bad snorer up till last year when I lost a lot of excessive weight. Also, I have read that dryness is often a cause of snoring. Personally, I have tried all possible ways to get rid of snoring: I was trying sleeping only on my side, using mandibular advancement splint and nasal strips. Finally, I bought a waterbase pillow, which really has reduced the sound:) So my wife says:smiley:Here you can find the objective reviews on these pillows.

My husband's snoring doesn't disturb me any more, not since he moved out and is living (and snoring) about 15 miles away

Every cloud has a silver lining.......... ;)
Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

Husband used to snore, to the point it sounded like sleep apnea to me. He went to the GP & was referred to ENT. It was diagnosed as perennial rhinitis & he now takes beconase nose spray twice a day. QUOTE]

Presume this isn't over the counter meds?

Maybe too late for you to see but yes, beconase is available over the counter. It's a steroid nasal spray, usually used for allergies.
  • My missus is a really bad snorer. She sleeps downstairs on the sofa, voluntarily, has done for years. On holidays, in a caravan Easter time, she sleeps in the living area. When I book holidays to Spain, I always find an aparthotel, and book an apartment with separate bedroom.

In October, we're going to Florida, so no escape for 2 weeks, all in the same room!!
