Hi,
Basically I snore, I don't mean to I just do...
It meaning I live a nightlife downstairs away from my wife.
I tried nasal strips, 2 mouth guards ( even though they were uncomfortable bits of latex ) and now throat spray. All have only slightly successful.
Lost 2 stone before and it made little difference.
Has anyone or anyones partner got any recommendations for different solutions, different sprays, chins straps, jedi power etc?
Cheers

There is an op you can have but that doesn't seem to have helped with the 2 people I know who have had it.
If you are very overweight you may need to lose more than 2 stone.. I lost 3 last year and still snored, less, but I did. You can get support re weight loss via the GP
I would recommend seeing the GP anyway, people who are overweight and snore lots may also suffer from sleep apnoea which can be assisted with.
My partner snores like a boar if he has too few pillows. Too few and his head is at a different angle and he just snores all night.. we suffer it at his mothers, she gives him 2 horrid feather pillows and he needs about 4.
The more tired you are the more likely you are to snore too apparently.
My stepdad snores so loud he can be heard across the street and downstairs over the TV!! He even wakes himself up!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Are you over weight?
Do you only snore while laying on your back?0 -
Get your nose checked.
I was having breathing difficulties and it was discovered that my septum was deviated so they fixed it, side effect was to stop my snoring instantly.0 -
My husband snores we have strategies that help.
If he drinks alcohol its worse so he is on the sofa
If he has spicy food as above.
If he has a cold/cough as above.
If he has coffee/ hot drinks after 6pm as above
If he has snore strips for the mouth they work enough for me to drop off.
He has stopped with the hot drinks later in the day and really thinks about when he wants spicy food he usually has that at the weekend along with the alcohol.
He can be pretty loud but over the last year its improved somewhat. I did have some pricey silicone ear plugs which did dim it but its still noticeable. I need to buy some more really.0 -
Maybe a referral to an ENT to check there aren't any polyps which can cause the noise.
Apparently a lot of our nasal issues are related to our guts and there is a book called 'Gut' is a useful read and helps solve a huge amount of modern day issues.
I am getting myself a copy to read soon but have been told by many to read it as it would help me with my breathing problems.

My bed is like a motorway.. never quiet and always something moving! lolLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

.... and have a bedroom each - seriously. I would do this if we had the room. I love my bed, and sleeping, so does my husband, I sleep way better when I'm in bed on my own.0 -
Make sure its not Sleep Apnoea - check with GP.
My ex's snoring could be heard in houses on the other side of the road unless all windows were kept shut!
