Dare I suggest an iPhone 4s, cheap as Chips now and still a good phone. You can always get a portable power pack for back up power.0

I bought one of these http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/shop/pay-as-you-go/motorola-moto-g-4g-payg/sku87965 and got an unlock code for £1.50 from ebay.
Great phone battery easily last a full day, waterproof and flick your wrist for light to come on.0 -
Removable battery points to Android or a Windows Phone, with windows your Operating System like iphone will always be upgraded as a ongoing process which if you upgrade a mobile every four years or as needs be, defo get a Windows Phone.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0

Windows? Won't those phones come with a heap of pre-installed stuff I probably won't use?
Should I just get another Samsung Galaxy mini II with Android 2.3.6? They must be pretty cheap now, IF they still sell them............0 -

I've recently gotten the Huawei P8 Lite which was/is £100 from The CPW.
It's a decent handset- I was swapping from an S3 which was slow and kept shutting down due to lack of space. The Huawei has 2GB of RAM which from memory is double that of the S3 and seems to work a lot better, more smoothly and has a few decent and useful features such as telling me when apps are still running and taking up power and then giving me the option to shut them down. Yes there are a fair few apps which I will have no need for, some can be deleted but the others don't seem to take up that much space.
On top of this it also will take an SD card and has a removable battery.
The only drawbacks I have found so far is the limited amount of accessories you can get. I'm so used to there being so much about (coming from the S3 which was a very popular handset with many accessories) but the basics are still available from Amazon and Ebay at least (screen protectors in various types, cases..etc but sadly none of the very well known protectors such as Tech21 have cases suitable).
Another drawback is the screen resolution which compared to the S3 isn't as bright in terms of colour or as sharp, it's not an HD screen where as the S3 is.
On the whole I'm glad I got the handset as it's a massive improvement on the S3 I had. It wont win prizes for being amazing or be as supported by accessories as some other handsets but given the price it wouldn't be something I'd expect from the handset. If I had more money yes I'd have bought better but given the spec and the price I paid I think I'd be looking at needing to pay upwards of 3 or 4 times as much to get better enough for it to be noticeable.0 -

2.3.6 is now 5 years old and less than 5% of phones use that or older software.
S3 mini is about £70 quite a few in second hand market and runs Android Jelly Bean 4.1. Still not current but a little better.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Good point. I read on the reviews that some phones took 1 month to arrive. I should have also mentioned that I need to get one within the week.
And add that I need one with a removable battery. Otherwise I probably would have got one of those already recommended here.
I take it that's a virtual store right?
And you'd get a phone from the same place (from the virtual world)?0 -
Argos currently have the LG LG4 for just over £150. Removable battery, PLUS it has the facility for wireless charging. Excellent camera and all the features most people would want. It is also due for the Marshmallow update in the next few weeks.0

I don't even know what that means :embarasse
Though I might take a look at it. Otherwise I might just stick with Samsung (maybe an S3) as one thing I did like was the size of it was manageable in a front pocket - where I've seen some phones that basically look like laptops.0
