Can landlord insist I move out at a certain time?

It's sorted. They're coming at 3:30.
The place is fine - we've had a cleaner fortnightly the whole time we've been here. But an end of tenancy clean is always longer (inside cupboards etc). Our cleaner does 3 hrs usually but we're asking her to do a bigger clean in an hour and a half so she needs someone to help. We'll help so should get it done.
I'm just annoyed they were forcing us to work to a timetable that didn't work and were implying there were contractual obligations when there weren't. Funnily enough, when I asked her which specific agreement I'd be breaching, she agreed to 3:30.
I do wonder sometimes why people come here asking for advice and then ignore it, but you got an extra 30 mins (which is probably less time than spent on here asking for advice)0 -
What a waste of time for the OP and all the contributors.0

I don't think this is fair. I found all the contributors incredibly helpful which in summary were: mostly confirming that the LL couldn't force me to move early, but also to be courteous and do my best to be ready by close of business. I emailed the agent on Friday to say I would try to move my cleaner but couldn't guarantee and pointed out I wasn't in breach of the agreement. They replied today insisting that 3pm was the latest time; my cleaner got back to me yesterday saying she could be finished by 3:30 and so I pushed for that. I said if they couldn't do the check out after that then they should arrange it for the following day.
Sorry you feel I've wasted your time, but honestly I am grateful for the advice and I felt confident in being firm with the agent because of the advice I received on here. I did need to communicate with them as if I wasn't going to be there for check-out, I needed to know where to drop the keys. The one bit of advice I did ignore was to ditch the checkout report - that is for the tenant to show that the condition of the property was left in the same state it was found.0 -

You sound so naïve.
Why do you think you need a report to show the state of the property?
