We have quite a few things over 30 years old.....
A small vacuum cleaner from 1967
A radio/stereo + tape recorder + record player from 1969
A kettle from 1969
A waffle maker from 1969 *
A sewing machine from 1970 *
A Kenwood Chef from 1970 *
2 coffee percolators and a milk warmer from 1971
A coffee bean grinder from 1971 *
A food warmer tray from around 1976 *
An Electrolux larder fridge from around 1977 *
A rotary ironing machine from 1978
Calculator from the late 70s
Computer from 1980
Video recorder from early 80s
* These are in regular use, but the rest did work when consigned to the loft or the back of a cupboard.
Our first Microwave was bought in 1982, it was huge, and American. When we moved house in 1987 we bought a Combi Oven, so the old microwave was taken to OH's office, where it gave good service well after he retired in 2007. I believe they bought a new microwave in about 2012 when they moved office.
The "new" combi oven is still in daily use here, as is our 28 year old Miele oven and 28 year old Miele cylinder vac.
I really hate having to choose new appliances!0 -
The parents have a Grundig radio from the 1950's, still in daily use.0

Thanks so much for everyone's input. Please keep sharing your stories and adding to this thread.
I will contact you individually when I've worked out which ones I can use - it is important for the article that I get a good spread of different products, rather than for example, 10 food processors.
Hope to speak to some of you soon for more detailApproved Journalist

Im still using my chest freezer circa 1979, Kenwood Chef 1980, Brother microwave 1980, pressure cooker 1980 and various small items, eg electric tin opener from the 70s, Hoover dustette 70s and a hairdryer from the 50s.0

1976 PYE hifi stereo still used as an amp for my speakers. Fan heater from my parents, must be over 40 years old and still used in my kitchen on very cold days. I'm sure it will out live the dimplex fan heater I bought a couple of months ago for the bedroom.0

It's still going strong and we use it every day. My wife wants it to break so we can get a new one but it's something we can't bring ourselves to part with it. I repaired a dry joint in it about 15-20 years ago.
Hi Made in Ireland - I tried to send you a PM but I don't seem to have the right permissions. Could you email me with your contact number today? I'd love to feature you and the microave in the article My email is leah.milner.freelance@gmail.comApproved Journalist

I have a 1950's Goblin 631 vacuum cleaner which still works. I was using it a few days ago.
How much of it is original is anyone's guess. My uncle used to work at the factory, and could get spares at trade price. The motor/fan unit is probably a replacement. There may not be anything original on it apart from the case that it's all built into (I had to replace the switch a few years ago).

Also have washing machine and upright freezer, both 30 years old and in use.
