I bought the wife-to-be a radio/cassette player before we were married. That was 40 years ago, it's in my garage now although I don't think the cassette bit works any more.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

It's still going strong and we use it every day. My wife wants it to break so we can get a new one but it's something we can't bring ourselves to part with it. I repaired a dry joint in it about 15-20 years ago.
I also have a Sanyo microwave, bought for my mum, which is at least 30 years old and used every day.0 -
They don't build them today like they used to.
I have no idea if it's 1st generation or not but I suppose it must be.0 -
We also visited a Museum recently in York and there was one exactly the same on display but not sure if it worked0

I have a 1970's Kenwood chef but it has been rebuilt as the motor burned out.0

A New World gas cooker from the 1960s
Forgot, there's a kettle from the late eighties.....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
I have a Kenwood Chefette mixer. Bought in 1972. Still in working order with stand, bowl and beaters. Liquidiser accessory replaced in the 1980's when I dropped and cracked the original one. I have a Kitchenaid stand mixer which is great but the little Kenwood Chefette is used more often.0

I have a 1950's Goblin 631 vacuum cleaner which still works. I was using it a few days ago.
How much of it is original is anyone's guess. My uncle used to work at the factory, and could get spares at trade price. The motor/fan unit is probably a replacement. There may not be anything original on it apart from the case that it's all built into (I had to replace the switch a few years ago).If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
My Tricity refrigerator is more than 50 years old. I bought it in 1965. It works a treat, even sometimes unintentionally freezes items on top shelf despite being on a low control setting. I don't want a new one, I don't think I could improve upon this one.
Also have washing machine and upright freezer, both 30 years old and in use.0
