Cheap, but nice house warming gift?

Taky sounds good, but would either go with a bottle of wine and a couple of glasses or a cheap vase from Ikea some are as little as a £1 and a bunch of flowers from asda £1.98 plus some bows and a card.
Then invite yourself and drink the wine!0 -
blimey my family must be a stingy lot!!! most we ever get when any of us moves house is a card!!! very proud of myself the other day, in true dfw fashion, ds and i made a card for mums new house and she loved it, my view is - i helped her move house as did all my siblings, so we saved her a few bob there!!LBM 29/07/ 07

But it will be wrong if I don't get them anything which I can't cope with, so it will only be something small.Current debt - £16,300

oooo dont tell me about house moving
I am due for completion next week and tbh the new house will be a big enough house warming gift.
I do echo what everyone has been saying though. I wouldnt dare ask anyone for anything. Cards would be nice though, something to look back on.
My Partner and myself dont have a lot and everything he had was mostly second hand.... Our parents are buying us a new fridge freezer and a dining room table although we have both objected!!!
We will be having a house warming but not wanting presents - just for people to bring a bottle - keep the party costs down
You should get a Home sweet home palque from the pound shop

> She is expecting a house warming gift, and would expect it to be expensive
In that case I'd make a charitable donation on her behalf (basically to make sure SHE doesn't profit one penny out of it). Either that, or suggest that she "go forth and multiply", ahem...0 -
She's already doing that!! I'm not sure I can cope with more of them!Current debt - £16,300

Excellent idea
A donation to 'Shelter' for those less fortunate.
Don't suppose it would make her think but you never know.;):j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0
