None of these animals are native to Iceland and the climate is not suitable for them so they must have been reared intensively inside.I think the poster meant Iceland the freezer food shop, not the country.
Ha ha! I'm sure MXShuggy was joking.
Yes, the meat was from the freezer food shop. I did buy some fresh kangaroo mince in a supermarket a couple of weeks ago in Australia, where said animals can be seen freely bouncing around outside in the wild.0 -

Yes, Iceland now stocks a selection of exotic meat supplied by Kezie foods.

It seems they sell horse meat. I'm impressed, didn't think it's was possible to get in this country!
I consider myself as fairly adventurous when it comes to food, I've tried a lot of different things. Some more controversial than others. Never tried ostrich egg though, although I've had ostrich steaks. Will have to get around to it at some point.0 -

I don't think Iceland stocks the horse meat, unfortunately. I've only seen ostrich, kangaroo, crocodile burgers and wild boar sausages in there. You could order direct from Kezie though.
Ironically, I can obtain raw horse meat for my dog easier than I can for myself in this country, and for less money0 -
Not had steaks but had kangaroo burgers and sausages in Oz. You have to be careful when you buy them because they sell some sausages which are not for human consumption.
The burgers weren't great because kangaroo is quite a lean meat. The (fit for human consumption!) sausages were better.
I grabbed some kangaroo mince when I stopped in a self catered place during an AUS holiday.... made it into a pasta sauce which worked well, offset the dryness that way
I fully understand the burgers, tried a pair of the borough market buffalo ones once and they suffered the same 'lacking fat' dryness0
