Wow I did not know this, learn something new everyday. :)

A Lidl ‘Deluxe’ 300g pack of two steaks costs £3.99, while the equivalent weight of lean fillet beef steak costs up to £9.

    Sorry, had to remove link.

Not had steaks but had kangaroo burgers and sausages in Oz. You have to be careful when you buy them because they sell some sausages which are not for human consumption.

The burgers weren't great because kangaroo is quite a lean meat. The (fit for human consumption!) sausages were better.

I adore trying new steaks and so far I've eaten ostrich, kangaroo, zebra, crocodile, mouflon, buffalo, wild boar and reindeer. We're lucky to have a steakhouse reasonably nearby that specialises in exotic meats :D

Never had an ostrich egg, yet, but would certainly love to try one.

I've had the Kangaroo and the Ostrich steaks from Lidl, they were beautifully tender, their Venison steaks are good too.

I have tried many exotic or 'weird' foods without knowing what it was first. Many I now love. I think that's the way to do it really as if you have pre conceived ideas about how disgusting they are then they will probably taste vile.

I didn't know what black pudding was made of when I first had it, it came as part of a breakfast set and it was love at first bite! When I tell people what it is, they screw their face in disgust and would never try it.

One of my favourite authentic chinese dishes is steamed chicken feet :)
  • You can get Ostrich eggs not far from me for a tenner. Equivalent of 24 eggs though? I would be sharing that like a giant dippy egg fondue! Yummy

I've bought kangaroo, ostrich and crocodile meat from Iceland.

None of these animals are native to Iceland and the climate is not suitable for them so they must have been reared intensively inside.
