Assuming that you haven't accepted any new price deals in the last 12 months ....CANCEL !! Tell them that your box has packed up and that you can't afford any cash -you will get a free "engineer's" visit at the very least and he will fit a reconditioned box.
  • Managed to get a new box, fitted free only had to upgrade and pay an extra three pds a month for twelve months, started at six pds but got the person to half it.....an engineer would have fitted a reconditioned so at least this one will be brand new...after twelve months will change my my pkge down again, so only paying 36 pds could have been worse...thx for advice

I wrote a post here (copy quoted in a lower post) that proved unhelpful and as can be seen gained some rather rude comments!
No matter; I genuinely had the best intentions and meant no offence, so removed the post.
    My apologies for wasting time.

But you could buy that box for a fraction of the cost of Sky Protect over the years...

We pay for Sky Protect, so recently got our new HD box (as our old non HD box - we're quite a bit behind the times - was pixillating and jumping on recorded programmes - particularly annoying with cricket or footie!) and new remote control 'free'; in the past when there've been problems this extra has proved well worth it for the speedy and efficient service and no-quibble attitude. I know it's an extra cost each month, but for this hassle-free help we've found it invaluable.
Apols; I'm sounding like an advert.....

Not an advert just another splashing needed cash .

    Ridiculous editing of original post.
Does the "elderly" person work for Sky?
