Slightly confused, looks pretty generic 12V supply and plug, Maplin have many generic laptop chargers that could certainly be set up with this power and plug combination straight out of the box with no making involved. As long as the polarity is right and capacity is high enough, what's to lose?
Nothing suitable there when I visited the store. But they have one online (with the wrong connectors).

Hurry up and get the Maplin one before they sell out as £50 is a good price, worry about changing the connector later.
I'm waiting until the end of the week just to see if they come up with something at the manufacturers end. I'm expecting free or heavily discounted. If they do I'll save the 50 quid for a couple of bottles.;)

your PSU is NOT a laptop charger , it is a 12v PSU rated at 192w , the difference between yours and the ones suggested to you is merely the plug that goes between it and your PC , its probably a generic size (5.5 x 2.?) and the simple act of soldering the correct one on , is not rocket science

It depends who's building the rocket!!!
I guess that's why my reply to Fightsback is relevant. That's the route I will go if I don't get one from the manufacturer...;)

Appreciate you trying to help....I googled (post5) and didn't find anything the same.
Regarding post 4, they had the same problem as the Maplin one- wrong connectors. I'll only go that route once all other avenues have been closed from the manufacturer.
As I said earlier, the original one is now working. Why it's working when all I've done is turn it on it's side, I don't know. If I lay it flat again, the power cuts out when under load..
I'll either get this one looked at by an electrical engineer or buy the Maplin one and have the connector changed.
