Afternoon all, THanks Ally for the start.
I've read the posts today but not much has sunk in!! I'm having a sofa day , hopefully I'll be better soon, I'm fed up of looking like Rudolph the red nose reindeer!

Not much of a list from me today
    * Kids breakfast was a quick reheat of a potion each of porridge that I bulk made up yesterday
    * Checked banking/updated spreadsheets
    * Checked fpl/luckyphone
    * I had hm soup that I made yesterday for my lunch
    * Dinner is gammon/veg left overs and I'll do jacket potatoes to go with it
    * Dishwasher was run on the quick wash
    * Made sure all sockets switched off (microwave/cooker etc)
    * A nsd as won't leave the house apart from getting kids from the bus stop
    * Will make the kids a banana smoothie after tea to use up a very brown banana and a handful of spinach that needs using up in the fridge.
    * Drinking plenty of warm water so mse as not having coffee & milk in it!

That's all I can think of for now.
  • Good afternoon all,

Today has been fairly productive for the first day of my week off…

    * Sourdough starter started…again… (the first one was an epic fail)
    * NSD as haven't really left the house
    * Sent a message about 2 faulty items of clothing I bought in the sale (same brand). £10 gift voucher on way as apology.
    * posted old ink cartridges off to Tesco recycling. Had envelopes years so hope they still do it…
    * blitzed the bedroom. Wooden floors are a b*gger for dust! Discovered spider city behind my bed too..)
    * Dinner is courtesy of HelloFresh. Got £25 off box so only cost me £11 for 3 meals for 2 people. Bargain! :D
    * Cancelled subscription to HelloFresh :rotfl:
    * Found old dog brush (rake type one) which will be perfect for new long haired cat we've taken in. Nearly bought a £25 brush, he's desperate!
    * Still need to sort current accounts
    * Hair dried naturally

Think that's it for today…off to cook a masterpiece!
  • Hello everyone :) thank you Ally

Check ins have been few and far in between with me for a while (sorry!) am trying to get online when I can. I hope you're all doing well.
OH and I are still getting to grips with YNAB.

    List for today:
    FPL
    Lucky Phone

    Survey/s
Go through purse and get rid of/change address on loyalty cards that I haven't already done
    Finish drying washing
    Put washing away
Take snack into work with me for break time

    B/L/D from stores

Think that is about it :)

    Hi everyone
Good news on the job front Ally

Well today has been a particularly pants day at work so I've come home feeling quite low. I was very tempted to take OH out to Toby Carvery for a cheer up but as I only have £45 to last just over a week we had spag bol from the freezer instead. Feeling a little bit better for making the virtuous decision (plus it was delicious)

LSD as I bought friend a birthday present and card. I also bought a sandwich for lunch as I didn't have time to heat my soup up when I got back from work :o
I picked up and immediately returned the unwanted wedding shoes from Monsoon, saving £17.70
    FPL to do
Banking checked and spending diary to update
Reading started for the postgrad teaching qualification I'm starting on Thursday
Digitised a cassette at work using cassette-digitiser-thingy (I do believe that is the technical term)

Last night we went to see The Danish Girl with our unlimited cards - beautiful film!

A job has come up in a nearby city (50 miles away) that I'm very tempted to apply for. It is a pay grade above what I earn at the minute and would be good in terms of career progression. The only down side is that an annual train season ticket from the town I live in is a whopping £3300!!:eek: I think that puts the brakes on me applying :(

I think I need an early night tonight!
    02 0% £719.20 £649.26
    Creation 1 0% £1,829.88 £1,533.78
    Creation 2 0% £604.80 £604.80
    Car Finance £10,326.74 £4,290.96

    Total £13,480.62 £7,078.80 47% PAID

    Mortgage £128,560 £115,633.35
    Long-Term Savings Pot £0

  • Evening check in :hello: I am utterly exhausted - literally didn't stop between 8.15am and 6pm. Just a 10 min toilet break and glass of water, and 20 min lunch. Got home - dinner, lunches tomorrow, shower and in bed watching telly and catching up on here.
Foxgloves - thanks so much for the idea of annoying jobs list. I have one now, and although I'm too busy at the moment to get anything done - now it's on a list I'll definitely tackle it.

[STRIKE]:p Check banking and PAD [/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]:p full day of teaching[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]:p parents evening [/STRIKE]
    :p exercise too tired :(
:p crochet (latest unicorn almost done) after this
    [STRIKE]:p nsd[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]:p meals from stores[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]:p politely nag dh to do something[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]:p be kind to myself[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]:p early night[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]:p stay calm[/STRIKE]

Hopefully will be dozing over in less than an hour. I am wiped out. The good thing about being busy is that I can't be spending money.

Legomum- oh I didn't know you could bulk cook porridge. How long does it keep for?

Determined - well done on your tips :) gotta love free money.

Ally - I'm glad you are still going to have work.

Morning all :hello: thanks for starting us Ally. Woo hoo!! On job front. I know you are taking a drop in pay but it's not like you have debts to service anymore.

Feel refreshed as woke up to alarm this morning for the first time in ages rather than a small climbing in to bed :rotfl: my list for today will be small but hopefully productive:
    Check banking
    Check for surveys
Sign up for RM survey I've been offered
    Sew DD glove before school
Meals from stores, ys bream for tea :D
Clothes drying on rads whilst heating is on
    Volunteering tonight

Bob - the transaction was odd, they claimed we had signed up for something when we hadn't and they couldn't prove we had. They did refund it without quibble in the end ( the company) but I'm sure if I hadn't been on the ball it would have stayed. I do have a handful of places that I shop occasionally on line that have my debit card in them, where I changed when I was first a DFW as I didn't want to be using CC freely online as it as too easy, however, I now only use cc online and pay off straight away, I need to move other accounts back - will add to my monthly list.

Anyone know if 2 of you at same address can have an isay survey account? I'm signed up and DH tried to but it said straight away that he was already signed up when he wasn't.

    Have a good day everyone.

Just back from volunteering, long day as out all day at work, thankfully commute was kind.
Had chilli for tea as wasn't home in time for jackets to Go in, means we can have bream tomorrow as chilli was leftovers, we've stretched the meal plan by a day :)

Try and be back tomorrow but another long day in the offing.

I have kept porridge made with milk in the fridge for 5 days with no problems, it possible keeps longer than this but I don't have a bigger dish to cook it in, I also make mine in the microwave as the dish is easier to clean than a pan;)
