It was a good day at work- I’ve slowly been working my way around the classroom sorting out cupboards and trays - the things that we don’t usually get chance to sort. I’ve done this whilst the children have been doing things out of the classroom. Not sure how I’m going to busy myself from now on though as I’ve done a lot of the things that needed doing. I’m not used to being in such an able class....there’s nobody who needs 1-1 which is what I usually do.I spent £50 over the weekend shopping and buying Subway but I had a NSD today. If nothing else the lockdown has made me think my shopping habits and I’m shopping more or less once a week instead of popping out everyday and getting tempted whilst I’m out.
We’ve watched Chernobyl over the last week - it’s the stuff of Si-Fi until you take a moment to remember it actually happened 😳😳January spends - £587.584 -
I’ve had a pretty good week money wise - £15 for ice creams at the seaside whilst at dds then yesterday it was my best friend of 55 years 😳😱😀 birthday so some wine chocolates and flowers were purchased ( and consumed together - not the flowers though) - we had a lovely evening having a social distant drink and chat by her back door - I think it’s the longest spell I’ve had without seeing her.My time with dd and gks was very special- we had walks by the seaside in glorious weather.....away from the touristy bits. A couple of lovely bbqs and lots of cuddles and fun. The youngest literally didn’t let me out of her sight - sat outside the toilet door waiting for me, just in case I went home without telling her 😂❤️😂 On Saturday evening the little one was looked after by her dad whilst the rest of us watched a beautiful sunset. The only down side was the 5+ hour journey time each way - but even that went well with no traffic jams.

So glad that you had such a lovely weekend.

I spoke to my neighbour last week and he asked if I liked the kitchen plans he’d sent - we didn’t receive any. I gave him dh email and he said he’d send them last Friday morning so that we could show them to dd at weekend - again they still didn’t materialise - not sure what’s going on there and I don’t want to pester him. Anyway I’ve taken my graph paper complete with cardboard cutouts of how I perceive my new kitchen and utility/toilet area to show a family member who is an architect and knows my house well. He thought they looked ok and made the best use of the space we have for the utility room. He did, however, suggest knocking part of a wall down to make it an L shaped kitchen/diner in the kitchen area. This is how I wanted it but dh pooh-poohed it as it meant moving a radiator and putting in metal reinforcements as it’s a structural wall. Anyway because relative suggested it, dh has come around to the idea. It will mean taking the carpet up from the dining room too which seems a shame as it is only 3 years old - but I think it’ll go into the box room. Next step is getting some quotes from builders. Think we’ll get them to price up with wall in situ and wall knocked down.....I’m looking forward to the work being completed but not to the upheaval.......

So tired today. I’ve been waking up really early and not getting back to sleep in case I oversleep for work. My hip is giving me agro - I’m wondering if it’s linked to the damp weather- or if that’s just an old wives tale. I needed winding up or my joints oiling like tin man in Wizard of Oz this morning.
We had some training today at work....it was on a condition I’ve worked with for about 25 years.....it was a zoom style meeting and like watching paint dry- it kept juddering and cutting out and when it was working you could only see half of one of the presenters head. and it was all very basic. It’s been a long day today.....
On my way home I saw an awful accident with an articulated truck - how somebody wasn’t hurt I’ll never know. The truck had mounted the pavement - it’s by the side of the river - the railings between the pavement and drop to the river were down - it took out a speed camera, a lamppost and a big section of barricade. It’s a good job nobody was walking along there....it’s a busy stretch near a school and no pavement on the opposite side, so everyone uses that stretch. I was telling dh when I got in and he said he’d travelled along the road just 10 minutes earlier - so it must have only just happened - feeling blessed for us both - 10 minutes either way for us and we could have been in it 😳 There didn’t seem to be another vehicle and it was a straight bit of road just before some serious bends. The truck is a right mess 😲😲 I’m wondering if the driver was on a phone......January spends - £587.584 -

I’ve been to see my brother this afternoon- it was his birthday on Wednesday and his card was still sitting on my dining room table. I phoned him on the day and said I’d visit him after work today. We don’t do presents - we only do children (now grandchildren) I did put him a lottery ticket in though so 🤞 - it would be lovely for it to come up trumps for him.
Only spend was the lottery ticket and I don’t envisage buying much this weekend. Need to do some number crunching later.....

How awful the accident sounds and so lucky for you that you narrowly missed it. Technology is great when it works. I was on a day of webinars on Wednesday and the transcript coming up on the screen bore no relation to what was being said, it was quite entertaining 🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

SA I really don’t like technology- other than the few programmes I am confident with - there is no way I could work with it....my worse nightmare. Wish I could have said my training was entertaining- I think we could have told the folk hosting it more about the subject than they told us.......
Beanie I have another week at work yet....4 1/2 days as we finish early on a Friday. In usual times we get 2 weeks for the Whit holidays which is taken from our summer break. It goes back to when there were a lot of mills around the area and they all shut for maintenance each suburb was slightly different but all had ‘Wakes Week’ - they keep talking about changing it but the 2 weeks in May/June are very nice as the 2 nd week when most areas of the country are back are always quieter and cheaper to go away - not that we have for a couple of years.....Secondary schools only get a week and more time over summer for exams - the trouble starts when you have a child in primary and 1 secondary......January spends - £587.583
