I know miss them both - made me think when I read the old diary - took me best part of a day and gave me lots of food for thought
But I know I've been spending far too long in front of a screen - words with friends is just addictive!!!! and as for rubbish daytime TV. So I'm going to try and limit myself a bit and make myself do something constructive each day.
I'm beginning to walk around the house unaided a bit - feel a bit like a toddler having to cruise near something to hold onto rather than going into open spaces lol. But once I get tired I have to revert back to crutches as I can't control my leg - legless without a drink!!
I phoned the dentist yesterday as I've had a bad gum which keeps filling up for months and I keep putting it off . She looked at it a while ago and gave me antibiotics but it's never stayed away. Anyway I was expecting an appointment next week but she asked if I could make it in just over an hour after I'd phoned . LOL I said yes - then wondered how the heck I'd get there as it's normally about a 15/20 minute walk. Soooo I managed to get a bus with my crutches - felt quite proud. It was 2 bus stops and the robbing so-and-sos charged £2.10 - what a rip off..... Anyway the MSE in me refused to pay that back so I walked back via little back streets. I stopped in chemist for a sit down half way home - but I did it - my arms and shoulders ached after and I was fit for nothing but it felt good. Soooo £50 plus in dentist for a check up and I've got to go back to have tooth out once infection has gone in a couple of weeks. At least was covered for the price of the antibiotics with my monthly prescription payment.
I went out with a friend to a big B&M and got a couple of bits for Christmas presents and littlest granddaughters birthday present. So at least I've made a start.
Can't believe I've been off work a month - in some sort ways it seems much longer other ways just yesterday......

The big shopping centre nearby usually does a fantastic free firework display sponsored by local radio station and I was gutted when I realised it wasn't happening this year. Could easily sit in their car park and watch display from the car.I quite enjoy the fireworks but don't think I'm up to standing in muddy parks in the dark this year - so we had a drive around just spotting them in the sky. I quite enjoyed it. Had a bit of a lazy day knitting after my long walk yesterday.
It's dh birthday on Wednesday - no idea whT to get him - think I'll have to take him out to choose his own.

Ds came around on Sunday and we went for a drive into the Peak District. I had a 5 minute walk near reservoir then sat and had a cuppa whilst they went for a wander for half an hour. Beautiful autumnal colours and half an hours people watching - lovely. We went onto big shopping centre in Sheffield and I treated us to a meal - more than half was thanks to MrT vouchers......as a thanks to ds and dh both for looking after me these last few weeks - so gorgeous meal and pud with drinks for £30 cash :money::T A good day.
I tried to get rid of dh for a while whilst I bought his birthday present but he wasn't having any of it lol - wouldn't leave me - not sure what he thought was going to happen....but that was after we'd passed armed police officers patrolling the shopping area:eek::eek::eek:- scary sign of the time. I bought eldest granddaughters birthday present though so not a very MSE weekend after all I'm afraid - but good fun. Then on the way home the views coming back into the towns from the darkness of the hills were amazing - fireworks and building lit up,were very pretty.
So until last night I'd still not got dh a pressie - so I ended up ringing a friend to take me to shop to get him a couple of fancy bottles of cider from local supermarket - I can walk round there now but having trouble carrying things with my crutches - must invest in a rucksack. I'll bake him a cake today and get him something for his garden at a later date.
I should get my cc statement in the next couple of days so will see how much I can pay off - I'm getting quite excited as the balance is getting low. In my wildest imaginings I can pay it this month but that will leave me without enough to,pay direct debits so it's probably not going to happen- plus I need o see how much sick pay work have paid me......

Doing rubbish- every time I go out I end up going for cuppa and cake. Need to get out of this habit and have a fruit tea instead.... Not good for the purse strings or waistline. Need to sit and rest though to break the walking at the mo.
So yesterday o got a taxi to Slimming World - had to pay for group as I'm out of my target range by the time I'd bought a new diary and some (quite a few) Hi fi bars, paid for the taxi......I'd parted with best part of £30......so I plan on being an angel food wise and getting back into range. It was good to get out and see everyone though.
So meals planned for the week - mainly out of the freezer - all I have to do is stick to it:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I often take one of my WW choc bars with me when I go for a coffee. I know you're not supposed to take your own food in but until the coffee shops start selling low calorie things what else can you do. On one occasion I sat down with my coffee and sneaked out my WW bar, just about to open it when a barista started clearing the tables and started chatting to me. I quickly hid my bar under the table on my knee, all the time thinking I wish she'd move on. By the time she went the bar had melted!

Good luck with the meal plan.

    Have a lovely weekend :)
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

Sounds like a good idea SA. Might stash some sw bars in my bag.
Had a busy weekend - had been waiting for follow up appointment at hospital. They phoned Thursday for me to go Saturday morning - worked out great as dh didn't need to take time off work - it's not the local hospital and really awkward to get to. Spent ages with doc - he is really lovely. He showed us the scans and the difference between 1st one and the 1 taken 5 days after. He explained his decision not to operate - they'd told me at 1 stage I'd be having spinal surgery the following day - so glad he made that decision

    Ooh pressed send by mistake.....
Doc said still no driving and no work for a while yet. Go to go back in a couple of months and have another MRI scan - still not sure if leg will ever go back to what it was but everything is moving slowly in right direction. He said carry on doing what I'm doing whilst waiting for neurophysio. So all good. I'm walking better around the house and taking less weight through crutches until I get tired then leg collapses again!!
Dh took us out for a meal for dh birthday and I took myself and dh out for a birthday meal too - thanks to freebie meal from Las Iguanas.
