We did venture out for a walk between showers yesterday- there’s an old mill pond and weir about a 20 minute drive away so we walked  around it and watched the ducks for a while....it’s a lovely nature reserve these days.  The sun actually shone down on us so I was pleased we made the effort. We timed it right as the heavens opened again on our way home. 7000 steps - better than sitting watching tv.
I had a really lazy day other than the walk and dh made a lovely sw meal of chicken shawarma. Will defo make it again.
Going over to relative we’re in the bubble with today - I’ll do some cleaning and we will have tea there too 👍
Can't believe it’s the last full week of the school holidays next week. Back in the day after bank holiday. The first couple of days aren’t usually compulsory but this year we have to go in.....I suppose we need to be brought up to date with any changes.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. I’m sitting contemplating whether to tidy up - the floor hasn’t seen the Hoover for a week 😱 - in my defence m’lord there are only the two of us and we don’t make that much mess......Or go outside as the sun is calling me into the garden to tidy up some pots and put things back on the decking after painting it last week- I bought some pansies a week or so ago and they’re still waiting to be put in pots in place of my sweet peas.  Think the garden has won as rain is forecast tomorrow......so I’ll do inside tomorrow.
I keep standing at the doors admiring my lovely grey decking - I’m pleased it’s stayed in tact after all the rain we’ve had since😀 I can’t wait until the builder levels the uneven part  of the garden so I can make my cosy seating area. I need dh to put a screen up between my area and his outside ‘important stuff’ 🤔🙄(junk). I’ve earmarked a small half  parasol which will stand by the fence over my seat and I want to make some bunting out of blue materials. I have a small upright shelving unit from inside the shed when we replaced shelving - it was originally my part of my dds teenage bedroom furniture. I’m going to paint that grey and stand a big lantern we had bought us years ago which hasn’t been out of its box yet in it with some solar fairy lights in. It’ll be next year I feel the benefits of it but it’ll be my shady nook- I don’t do hot sunshine.
Yesterday went well food wise - feeling good with the way it’s going atm......I don’t want to go back to work - too munch temptation with biscuits everywhere. I want to stay home eat well and play gardening......it’ll be fine once I’m back I’m sure.

I did indeed get into the garden and have had a lovely day. I pottered until my hearts content - planted the pansies in some of the pots at the front - took the sweet peas out and stripped the seeds from the pods. I’ve planted some where I want them to grow next year - I did this at this time last year and had a fantastic show of flowers from early this year until recently. My neighbour even commented on them and she is a fantastic gardener with a beautiful garden - I gave her  a load of seeds and have planted half a dozen pots with said seeds too to see which grow the best. And I’ve still got a few seeds to pass on - don’t know who to. Might take them to a local plant/seed swap. I still have some pots that look ok so will get some more autumn/winter plants in a few weeks time.  I’ve cleaned the area around the decking- repotted a small olive tree that sits on the decking.....not sure how to look after this really....it looks a tad sorry for itself with a few bare stalks 🤪 but it’s hanging on in there. I swept all around the decking and where my shady nook will be, took all the green tomatoes from my plants and got rid of plants and they were looking very very sorry for themselves. It looks so much better. Then I sat for half an hour with an old sw magazine reading stories and looking at recipes with my back to dh very important rocks, gravel and junk 🙈 It’s been my sort of weather today. Bright, warm rather than hot and a lovely breeze. I’ve just come in to do a quick whizz around the kitchen and living room to make it look half presentable then decide what to do for tea. Think it’ll be jacket potato with something from the freezer.
