Asda in trouble

Options
Asda in trouble as are the other supermarkets ?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-35342471

They ALL miss the point, they all think it is because of Lidl and Aldi ?

Due to the Lidl and Aldi aggressive parking tactics, many many people will get tickets of £80-£100 if they overstay making them too expensive to shop in

The supermarkets have not yet understood that if they restrict shoppers to a limited time period before the cowboys pounce on their cars, it follows that sales will be down, they are so thick they don't understand this.

All it needs is one major supermarket to kick out the cowboys and instead of advertising on TV that "fish fingers are only £1" why don't they tell the shoppers, " come and shop with us, spend as much time as you want, our car parking is free"

Attract customers, not push them away

Others would follow, kicking out the cowboys once and for all.
Would certainly give Lidl and Aldi a run for their money

How much more would you spend in one store if there were no parking restrictions ?

Parking fines - Buy one get one free.

Parking fines - get a loyalty card and get it stamped at the till. 20% off your next parking fine.

ASDA just needs to use its imagination.

Whist I agree with your theory. The British Public being what it is, would immediately fill the car park with all-day parkers who were at work nearby. Thereby leaving very little room for genuine customers. It is not readily apparent to me just how the supermarkets would cope with this problem. If someone out there has a good idea please let us hear it.
What really peeves me is when the sign says no return within xxx hours. What are the chances of you buying everything that you need for, say, a DIY project Then being unable to return to change or buy a different component..
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

Why on earth would you want to spend more than 2 hours in a supermarket?

AH ! no doubt that is the sales pitch from the PPC's, in reality don't think so. There is a tesco near me with no parking restrictions and there are always spaces in the car park despite their being big offices around .... its just a myth

The good idea is to sack the PPC's

They are in the minority so employ pay machines with barriers.
When the store is closed, the barriers are down

you might get a person, after the cashier scanned their shopping
    and are asked to pay.
    they open there bag
    opens the purse
    get the notes out
have a look for small change,
    pay
start packing the shopping very carefully and slowly.
then till operator waits till she finished packing and is walking away.
    times that by 6 people

:mad:why dont people have their money ready/handy?
