The best mobile contract I've ever seen

Options
SIM only.
I was paying approx £22/month for unlimited mins, texts, and 2Gb data with o2. My contract expired a while ago, and today I finally got around to shopping about. I've been with o2 a long time one - I noticed of the last Martin's Money Tips emails an £18/month (12 month contract) deal with o2, so I thought I'd move to that. Same plan, but with 4Gb data!. Seemed like a winner.

Then I remembered a colleague mentioned GiffGaff. This is a subsidiary of o2, and they only wanted £12/month (1 month contract) for 1000 mins, unlimited texts and 2Gb of data. Seemed like a new winner.

Then as I was about to sign up, my broadband speed was winding me up, so I got on the case with TalkTalk (my provider). I went the their main website, and found that I could get 1000 mins, unlimited texts and 3Gb data (12 month contract) for £5.50/month!!!! They run on o2's network, so my coverage wouldn't change - happy days!

Just before signing up, as always, I ran it through Quidco. Low and behold, all TalkTalk mobile purchases come with £80 cashback!!!!

20 mins shopping around online in my dressing gown has not only saved me over £200/year on my old contract, but the Quidco cashback leaves me about a tenner in pocket at the end of my new contract!! :money:

I got an amazing deal with talk talk mobile (I'm with them for phone & bb).
I like to be sure my bills will be small so I asked for the excess cap to be set at £1, the minimum - not really expecting to use it.
Anyway, I did use it once, don't know if it was voicemail or a funny number, but I exceeded the £1.
So you'd think I was barred from anymore outgoing calls that cost?
    Wrong!
I was barred from making any calls (calls I'd paid in advance as part of my package), any texts or using the Internet (again things I'd paid in advance as part of my package).
So I called up thinking the phone had a problem, discovered it, very miffed that the package id paid for was turned off too.
Paid the excess charge & was told it could take 2 days to process payment & turn my phone back on!!!!!

I changed to EE almost immediately (paying more) & left the sim in a draw & the contact to run out - they wanted more to stop it than I was would pay letting it run monthly.

I would NEVER go back to them if they offered a £5 a month unlimited package, because of their idiotic pricing!
If you want to cap/control it tight, you are going to get cut off for what you've paid in advance.

They run on vodaphone rather than o2 I think.

I hope you remembered to cancel it once your minimum term was up. The contract doesn't 'run out', it keeps going until you cancel.

    FraudFraud...

I seen Dildo Hardening on news talk about the BTEE merger, if she had as good a plan as her cosmetic surgeon that company would be a market leader in all avenues.
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

TalkTalk are still on Vodafone, they been suggesting they will move to O2 for over a year now. So your coverage will change.

You get 1000 mins, unlimited text messages and 3Gbyes of data (or better) a month?
    prosaver wrote: »

The best deal there for data seems to be the one the OP got. However it's gone up to £10.50 per month now.

Endless minutes and text messages don't really impress me very much.

I signed up with life mobile about 3 mths ago , via uswitch it was £6 per mth (EE) 1500 mins , unlimited txt and 1 g data on a monthly contract , set my limit to £1 ,(payable calls) have been informed that this IS the limit , no catching up by them , its stopped IMEDIATLY , but you can continue with free minutes , the say no to 0870 website comes in handy , the only one that's worth thee extra is the 111 number (police) @ 15p time unlimited
