I went to lidl especially to get their dairy free chocolate pots (I’m an aldi girl normally) and they had all sold out! 1.99 for 4 is a bargain!
Anyone know if they restock the special buys at all or am I out of luck?0 -

This snooze/lose thing for limited stock offers always amuses me.
It's like when the TV Shopping channels say "call now, there's only 20% of the stock left". That makes no sense from their perspective - they don't care which of their viewers they sell to, they just want it sold - so why pretend that they do?0 -
I like Aldi nappies/pull ups and especially their baby wipes. Far better and thicker than Tesco's and Johnson's for that matter for a fraction of the price but can't get these online.
I used to only shop in Aldi but it was quite a bit away from me to travel to and started noticing dates on their meat getting shorter and shorter. However I'd go back if it was closer to home or they did a full online/ delivery service. I just don't have the time to go to the shop working full time so end up getting Tesco online for convenience0 -
There's a Lidl a few mins along the road that's just been given a refurb. I always preferred Aldi before but might give Lidl a go again.
Is there anyone here that can recommend if Lidl is just as good as Aldi?0 -

Personally, I marginally prefer Lidl over Aldi, although they are neck-and-neck most of the time.
I think that Lidl has a marginally more exotic range, and the weekly events for different foods is always interesting. I think Lidl is possibly very slightly more expensive than Aldi overall, although most of the time they have the same prices for similar products.
We've had a lot of accounts of quality issues with Aldi fresh fruit & veg, and I don't recall hearing the same consistent reports from Lidl.0 -

Personal choice really, and very much dependent on individual stores and store managers.
We have a lovely new Lidl near to a much older and smaller Aldi. Since most of the prices are much the same I fully expected to switch to Lidl for a better shopping experience and a nicer car park but actually the customer service is so bad and the queues so long that we’ve now switched back again.
The Aldi is also kept very cool where the fruit and veg are displayed, unlike Lidl, and it’s reflected in the poorer quality at Lidl.0 -

Compared to £1.45 for a 250g block, so yes a saving of 82p/kg.
Actually the instore price for this type of Lidl 250 grams butter is now £1.49.
I know only 4p extra but 4p is 4p.:D
So a saving of 98p/kg.The more I live, the more I learn.
