Also noticed the frozen chicken breasts have gone up to £3.50 from £3.33p. Still cheaper than Tesco equiv.
Iceland have 1.5kg for £5 (£3.33/kg). I find the Iceland ones are a lot less watery after defrosting (even though the water content on the ingredients is almost the same).0 -
Lidl seem to have gone through a round of price increases in various parts of the store.
I noticed they have now stopped doing "Simply" strawberry jam (454g for 28p). The "Maribel" jams are now available in more flavours, but at a higher price: strawberry, cherry, blackcurrant, raspberry, apricot now 89p for 450g (previously strawberry, raspberry and apricot - 454g for 59p).
The green thai curry paste has undergone shrinkflation. It was 43.5p per 100g, it's now 49.5g per 100g. Same for the tikka masala paste.
Also, watch out if you're buying hams. They do "Warren & Sons Cooked Ham - 5 Slices, 120g" for 79p (healthmark shows it's from Republic of Ireland). But they also do "Warren & Sons British Cooked Ham - 5 Slices, 120g" for £1.29. 50p extra for something British (you'd hope the shorter journey would make the price cheaper, but hey ho). As far as I can tell, the product is exactly the same, except the country of origin.0 -
I notice that Lidl also sell Natural Yogurt at 45p per 500g but also some at 60p. Not sure of the difference.0

ISTR that there are 3 types (Fat free, Low fat and Whole milk) each of which is a different price.0 -
I can recommend the "shreddies" style cereal from Aldi.....tastes as good or better than the branded version imo !!Best headline ever on local paper??
"Weight loss group doubles in size"0 -
I can recommend Aldi's knock-off almond Magnums. They are as good, or perhaps even better, than the 'real thing'.0
