The Californian Zinfandel Rose (wine) that was on offer at the weekend for £2.99 is very nice.
Excellent VFM and far too drinkable in this hot weather. :beer:0 -
Can anyone help me.
In Aldi about three years ago, they did boxes of marinade sachets in powder form. Got 3 per box. In different flavours like hot n spicy and bbq. Think they were 75-80p. I used these as Maggi's So Juicy with a pack of roasting bags which are 80-90p for 10 from B&M. So it cost 33-38p per meal.
They were seasonal as were designed to coat it with meat and grill or BBQ it. The boxes were near the dried herbs and packet mixes for casseroles. Worked superbly like the So Juicy
Do Aldi sell these or their version of So Juicy? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
The value Jaffa cakes have disappeared from Aldi...probably just as well! I'm sure they'll make a return after Christmas, if not before.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I've done a few washes with Lidl Formil laundry liquid. It's been great so far, I've used a lot less than I would normally use with tablets and the clothes have come out perfectly clean at low temperatures, and importantly without any residue.
*Wonders why she came so late the the party*

Has anyone else noticed the change in Quixo beef gravy granules? They were really good but now a pale gloopy comparison of the former recipie. Perhaps it's just a glitch in a batch in my store? If not then it's back to the more expensive one unfortunately. If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you! :dance:0

There are quite a few new recipe/new supplier things going on at Aldi & Lidl at the moment.
Just off the top of my head:-
- Lidl Wraps have been re-organised, and 50/50 seems to have been dropped.
- Aldi 50/50 wraps have a new recipe/new supplier resulting in a yellower, moister product with less obvious bran content.
- Aldi Cholesterol-Reducing Yogurt drinks have new packaging (with a screw top) and a new recipe that is much, much thicker than before.
- We've already discussed the new/reorganised Lidl Fruit Juice drinks.
- Aldi has new packaging on fruit juice, but I don't think formulations have changed.
- Aldi toothpaste seems to have disappeared entirely, with only Colgate/Sensodyne products left.
- The summer special Ice Cream cones do not seem to have appeared this year (Pistachio and Caramel at Lidl, and 6x Cones for 89p at Aldi).0 -

I have had pistachio and saffron ice cream before (not the same brand) and it is possibly my biggest regret in life.
Date and cinnamon sounds lush though!0 -
I am not Christian but an Atheist.
But even I like a time when the supermarkets etc. don't have thier tills constantly ringing.
Nothing is that important that a supermarket must be open 24 hours a day. Just learn to live without or buy it when you do your shop. Can't be that hard to figure out when your milk will run out.
I am a Christian but I see no need to force my beliefs on anyone else.
If you don't like shopping on a Sunday I'd advise you to stop doing it.0 -
