Bank Account not on Credit Report

Accounts opened prior to 2007 did not have the consent given to report to credit reference agencies.
How strange, I remember obtaining a copy of my credit report back in 2004 and seeing all my bank accounts / credit cards showing on Experian and Equifax that were opened circa 1999.
Fast forward to today, all my old bank/credit card accounts that were opened in the early 2000's and still live are all still showing on my credit files across all 3 agencies.I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. I have 4 bank accounts. Oldest HSBC from 1990, that my nation wide and TSB show. My Abbey national (Santander) does not, but I have had that from around 1990 as well
Only HSBC has an over draft0 -
It's something that has come in over time, so the older they are without any new terms being agreed, the less likely they are to be reported.
The 2005-7 date quoted I think is more or less when it reached the point that most new accounts with most banks were routinely reported, or that there was a more general agreement between the CRAs and lenders reached.

Yes, same thing happened with me, but I didn't know 'till after the event, and I was not happy about it. My view is that REAL borrowing should be on the CRA files about you, but other stuff shouldn't - utilities, phone contracts, car leasing, current accounts without o/d etc.. The more that's on there, the greater chance of errors that can knacker your ability to obtain further credit.0 -
I am not sur the 2007 date is set in stone. Many banks reported before that date.0
