Good luck darkknight. It looks like you've got a great plan for the next three years! It's baby steps for me, as I've just started out, but I'm enjoying reading the stories of those of you who are much closer to being MF!30% Shared Ownership Mortgage - [STRIKE]57,000 May 2015,[/STRIKE] 51,908 May 2016

Welcome and thanks southcoastgal...I was just reading your thread 😊
Good luck on your mission as well...you've taken the first few baby steps...we all started from where you are now...in time you'll get there.1 -
Hello dark^knight,
You do seem to have had a fair few expenses in January, excellent that you got that extra £50 payment in.
"A good start to the year...35 more months to go." - I like this especially as we are also aiming to be MF by December 2018, will enjoy reading your posts and seeing this come down.

Yes, 2025 does seem a bit far away...but the thing is time just goes by so quickly...main thing is to keep going and I'm sure you'll be fine.
Also, celebrating every £5K is a good idea to keep you motivated.
Good luck!!!1 -
Had another relatively expensive month...a few unexpected (unbudgeted for) expenses came along.
So, just managed to OP my budgeted £1600...which I am still very happy with, all things considered.
Every £1k OP means £2 less in interest every month, so little milestone this month was... that from now on we will be paying less than £200 a month in interest. This is down from £352, which we were paying before we started the overpayments.
...so £152 more going towards OP every month!!!
For Feb...well done...could do better...34 months to go.1 -
Thanks Dark Knight will be keeping tabs on your posts for motivation, like the idea of a incentive every 5k. Your doing great! Winning!1

Hello dark^knight,
Great that you made the budgeted February overpayment despite the unexpected expenses. Good luck achieving your target this month.
