Doctors here (US) recommend an aspirin or ibuprofen and a big glass of water before you go to bed after drinking alcohol, and then coffee the next morning along with juice of some kind. It helps ward off alcohol headaches. Here in New Mexico we eat something with chiles in it called menudo. Well, not me because I don't like tripe, but it is made with a lot of red chile. I'll bet there are hangover remedies all over the world. The good thing is you had a clear acholol because the darker the liquor the worse the symptoms supposedly. My last hangover was with shots of tequila, salt and lime. Oh my! :eek:Overprepare, then go with the flow.

B0den repaid the money for a cardie I had for a few months but wasn’t happy with. I therefore went and got a £18 shop. I didn’t get any bargains but I still shopped savvy. I feel relieved to have the shopping as the cupboards were empty. I would have made it through but this way is much nicer
Greek salad for lunch.
Lots of organic chicken stock made
Sausages and salad for supper
I have no washing-up gloves until next big shop so my hands are dry as I washed up 3 Xs and bleached sides too
My travel pass was found so if I send it back to the office by the end of month I get the admin money I paid out. So I went to the PO and sent it off. If I get it back I will save it. I will.
My bank is doing a verification exercise so I have to have documents witnessed. I got 50% of this done today
WFH today and grateful for it in all this heat. I got out early this morning before the sun got hot and got stuff done. It’s been hard to keep migraine away despite going to bed at 9pm yesterday...
Everyone knows this but me, but continually amazed that cleaning and decluttering go hand in hand
My hotspot cleaning/sorting area is the hallway at the top of the stairs. I cleaned all the paintwork, got rid of cobwebs, packed stuff in spare room, hoovered. Cleaned light switches too. There are bookshelves at the top of the stairs. All have been cleaned and returned to the shelves on the wall or put in the CS bag.:)
Decluttered :T
I thought there were no books I could live without, then I Kondoed 3 shelves and turns out I can! I let go of books that I enjoyed but know I won’t read again. Books that I’ve ‘been meaning to read’ for years. Life’s short. I’ll do the ones I ‘can’t wait to read instead.’ I decluttered 27 books that I can barely carry
So, now I worked on a daily routine for mornings:
Now it is clean and I have a blind so none can see in, I have spread my yoga mat there now and will start a 5 minute routine in the morning. Oil burner in place. So, cleaning and decluttering this upstairs hallway area has literally changed my daily routine, or to put it in a more cliched way…changed my life
A very productive day for me
I hope you had a good day too.
Stealing from MT againbut happy hump day

My NSD number 11 yesterday for July, was mostly achieved by being unwell and not leaving the house. I had taken a day’s holiday so I was disappointed to be unwell
I am proud of my total NSDs so far. My next challenge will be NSDs in a row. How many can I challenge myself to do? What would 5 feel like? I would feel positively rich if my whole week’s budget only had to last 2 days…
My TV has gone back to being fine. Its like it hears me threatening to dump it and then it bucks its ideas up
Commuted and had a training course but feeling okay, as I rested yesterday and it’s less hot today
Strangely, the house is very messy after decluttering and cleaning as the every day things get neglected when I run out of energy, plus I pull out stuff. But home early from my course so I can do a bit this evening
It wasn’t a completely NSD but a low spend day as I only had a coffee for £2.50 on my way into the course. I’m glad I stopped off as I felt unwell after days of migraine fighting. I had carrots and 2 cold sausages in my bag which I also had and after I felt better.
The course had lunch provided and plenty of fresh fruit so I didn’t have to buy lunch or take it :money:
Despite spending £18 on Wednesday I have no food or fresh fruit or veggies left. How is that possible? Shopping without a list makes that possible. I had aubergine and courgette curry tonight. I’m not hungry, but my empty fridge makes me nervous.
My decluttering uncovered a leather-bound antique book that I forgot about. It’s beautiful and will make a perfect present for a very dear friend. First I thought, ‘I love it I can’t possibly give it away’ then I remembered I didn’t even know I had it, so of course it can go.
I can order my online shop tonight as they don’t take the money until it is delivered.
My last working day is tomorrow and then the following days belong to me as I have no commitments. Starting to realise I need 2 days just for me. If I have social activities I need an extra day for that too. So, once debts are cleared I’d like to reexamine my working week. Just a thought.
Happy weekend MSE folk

Beanielou, I don’t know when I will be DF. The goal posts keep shifting…
Yesterday I was in good spirits but today I got home from work to a letter about my mortgage saying I owed much more money than I had previously been told a month earlier in writing. It says I might lose my home and taps into all my worst fears. I feel sick with nerves. I can’t phone them until Monday but I think I will go and see if I can get an appointment and see someone in person.:(
I was so looking forward to this month as it was supposed to be a slight easing. Now it isn’t. If the bank are correct I don’t know what I’ll do as I can’t pull things any tighter. I only managed because I thought it would be getting better about now.
I’m feeling so stressed and fed-up and as if my life is spiralling out of control again. I know I feel better with a plan so this is it:
--Don’t send off my online shop use Lid1 voucher in The Mail for £5 if I spend £40 and build my shopping list around that. I’ll go tomorrow with my bike, carry it home that way.
--I’m not going to wait until my debt is paid to work 4 days a week. Instead, I’m going to ask to ask for an extra day WFH. They can only say no BUT they might say yes. They can’t say yes if I don’t ask. I can’t work less as I need the money but I might be able to reduce the pressure if I can WFH an extra day. I’ve made an appointment to do this on the 4th August
--My home and house feel out of control. I’m going to start looking for a gardener for 2 hours a week once a month. I think I’m expecting too much of myself to work F/T, work on my creative project and manage a home. It’s harder as I live alone. I need to get help where I can.
--Go to the bank and see if I can get an appointment with someone who can explain my mortgage payments and how I can have increased the debt despite paying as usual
--Prioritise swimming on Monday as exercise helps me destress
--Get my train ticket to Cornwall so I can focus forward
--Swap coffee for camomile tea/rooibos to calm myself down
--Burn bergamot
--Talk to someone about this so I don’t bottle it up/Talk to 2 people I know who may be able to recommend a low cost counsellor. It’s going to be tough so I’m going to need support
--I need to start meal planning so I’ll do that this evening.
--Write my shopping list
--Find an area to clean and declutter as it gives me the feeling of ‘doing something positive’
--Find a relaxation session on line that I can do once/hopefully twice a day
--Find a yoga session online that I can do once/hopefully twice a day
Off to make a cup of tea.
to quote the words of a Whitney Houston song. 'It's not right but it's okay. I'm going to make it any way'
I hope you are enjoying the sunshine
Thanks for listening

Saturday letters are always the worst but given you have contradictory information in writing, it's difficult to see how a bank could pursue you to such an extent that you'd lose the house. I know how it feels when things just become overwhelming but by drawing up an action plan you're taking control and we're all here to cheer on.
I know exactly how you feel about the garden. I've recently commissioned my nephew to do the maintenance as tidying it is too weather dependent. It has been in more use which is brilliant. It also stops my mood from nose diving when I look out the window.
You can do this, even when you feel the anxiety threatening to choke you. Just do what you need to to get through until Monday. Hi DIA
Sorry to hear about the bank letter, fingers crossed it gets clarified asap and that it turns out to be the lower figure. I think you should tell them this is unacceptable in very strong terms - nobody can plan effectively on contradictory information. They should apologise, and they should sort out an appointment for you urgently to resolve the issue.
Re keeping on top of house etc, did you look at the FlyLady routines? I found them really helpful as it meant the house was deep cleaned effectively every month in less than 2 hours a week. I'll be going back to it once I've got the decluttering done in a couple of weeks. I completely understand how bonkers it gets doing a full time job and personal projects, but if you are paying for a gardener you need to be sure that is worth the scrimping you'll be doing for it. If you get your extra day WFH, could you perhaps have the gardener in to blitz it and then maintain it yourself?
Also, if you were sick on the day you had booked leave you may be able to take it as a sick day and effectively get your holiday back - check your HR policies. I don't think you'd need a doctor's note as it should be self-certification for one day and it's a day you could use for your project or garden if you can get it back.
Sending you hugs and cups of tea ((:coffee:))
