Thanks MT. And thanks for the PM too :A As you will see from my post today didn't go to the cinema today :o

I thought I was having a free day today…cinema, gym, steam room. I miss read my schedule and I’m at work today. Just as well I noticed

So, WFH and a NSD today. I have done 2 lots of washing and they are drying outside.
Another wash in the machine ready to start tomorrow (if it’s dry)
I’ve made a chilli and prepared lots of raw salad veggies.

I've cleared junk from the room I work in

    Back later this evening

    I'm back...

It’s a surprise to me but it is pay day in 9 days and I still have money left over.
Spending less is becoming second nature to me and I’m so thankful for that. With additional money I’m going to dry clean my winter coat and put it away before the moths eat it up. I’m also going to buy a small garden tool so I can tackle my shrubs. All very dull spends…:o

I have a tiny bit of overtime coming my way next week which I shall use for a frivolous spend. I’m thinking an eyeliner…I’d like the sheer tint but that’s pricier…:)

I’ve been decluttering papers and taking them to work to shred once a week. I was thinking, once my mortgage and debt have been paid I can dump all the paperwork relating to both. That’s quite a lot of paper actually

Lots of dishes washed (I know I’m not supposed to be focused on what I can’t have but oh, for a dishwasher once again)

I decluttered a little tablecloth to the CS. It’s nice, but I have nicer ones and how many do I need?

I opened all the windows of the room I was working in and burnt lavender and lemon in the oil burner this afternoon

I saved a few pounds by plucking my own eyebrows :money:

    Have a lovely evening

Those few pounds do add up! Once you have a good eyebrow line it's easy to do yourself.

You always inspire me to use my candles.

I have a leak in the line that exports my dishwasher water and am waiting for the plumber. How I miss it!

As long as you have your house title you can dump the rest. As for other debt I like to keep the last statement. A doctor tried to charge me two 1/2 yrs after I had paid off the bill. I copied it and took it straight in. He said 'not many people keep copies'! Shyster!
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

  • There's a certain crimson coloured mag that's offering a free v well regarded eyeliner. You could maybe get two treats for the price of one.

    Hello DIA,

If you know the sheer tint is the best one, then I would personally get that. This journey is one you should also enjoy and sometimes, as we find out, the cheaper option can be a false economy when you throw the cheap one away and buy the one you originally wanted.

If you're unsure about which eyeliner then I'd definitely try out INOD's suggestion! In fact, maybe I should!!!! :D I'll have just that treat though as I've not done any overtime to warrant more.

It's a nice eyeliner. My mag had 2, brown and black. Kids have already tried out both and they also say it was good

Thanks Brizzled, MT and Milasaves :) I will be buying the magazine and eyeliner tomorrow. A great tip-off INOD :)

I've written 3 posts trying to make them positive, for myself as much as anything. But the shortened version is I'm having a rubbish day for numerous reasons and the house and debt are a large part of that. I'm going to leave it there and wake up tomorrow and start again...

    3 good things

    A NSD :)

I have the ability and the means to improve my situation :)

    I am WFH tomorrow :)

    Have a peaceful evening

Sadly the mag with the eyeliner was sold out, but that’s okay I’ll make do with using my eye pencil for now.

I haven’t done any creative work and as a wise reader has pointed out I’m better when I build creative work into my schedule.

I’m off for 3 days now and I intend to prioritise creativity. I have a few social engagements and cleaning/decluttering in amongst that.

I’m trying to stretch the food I have in for a week. It should be possible…

    Breakfast

I have frozen fruit, seeds, kiwis and yogurt for breakfast. I love kiwis they are loaded with vit C, keep well, are cheap and they are ‘clean’ so it doesn’t matter if I isn’t organic.

I can’t make anything requiring a blender and that restricts me, but I’ll do a meal based on the following protein sources that I already have:

    Main meals until payday…

Eggs (sweet potato and red onion tortilla, carrot and spinach salad)

Fish (grilled mackerel, boiled egg and spinach salad)

Lamb (lamb steak with mediterranean veggies and tahini sauce)

Minced beef (beef burger with pickle, feta and red onion wrapped in lettuce leaves, sweet potato chips)

Quinoa (pea and mint quinoa, feta and pomegranate molasses with a green salad and corn on the cob)

    Lunches are leftovers

I'm getting fatter again. I'm going to be hyperaware and for now, I'm not eating chocolate or crisps AT ALL. Nuts are good things but I eat too many so they too are off the menu for now. Cherries are in and a whole punnet is the same price as a bar of chocolate. I'm enjoying baby plum tomatoes so I'll go for them instead of nuts for snacking and olives and baby gherkins and feta are good too. :)

I’m forcing myself to get some exercise today. I WILL swim and use the steam room before meeting a friend for coffee. It’s nice that I can buy my friend a coffee as I have a few pounds remaining this month as it’s 6 days to pay day. :)

I lost my other travel pass a few months back so I’ll have to pay to get a new one. That’s £5 to replace it and £10 on top to pay for 2 days travel. Annoying.

I’m taking a few days off fretting about debt and money and house repairs. I’m keeping up with my plan and paying off debt but I’m sick of it dominating my every waking moment. Jo Cox dying puts it in perspective… I remember someone saying they often wanted to say to Gordon Ramsey when he was swearing and shouting at an under chef ‘Oh calm down Gordon, it’s only a bit of dinner…’ And in the same vein, this debt is important, but you know what, its only money.

    3 good things

    Time off work!!

Enjoy the start to your weekend

You could buy a wee stick blender?

It is only money. You are paying what you agreed every month and the debt is reducing every month. So job done. Let it go

    Enjoy your weekend.
