  • Brilliant plan to rearrange your days around so you have more time for yourself. I try to get things done straight after work so it doesn't eat into my night. And if I've got a day off, I want to get appointments out the way in the morning. I hate my time being stolen ;)

Andwhadyaknow....you'll have even more time if you're only working 4 days a week :T That's marvellous, I hope your work agree to it.

I used to have a really flimsy front door, I'm sure it wouldn't have taken much to shove it in but when I had my house partially renovated 4 years ago, I had a new front door put in. There's no shoving that bad boy now......well, maybe if someone had an axe :o;) Go for it, you need to feel secure in your house. :)

Thanks Orange Ena. I agree about a new door. Parsniphead said the same and like you, she has her head screwed on ;) I will do that AND good news from work too :)

  • Thanks for the support everyone :)

    So, today defied my expectations.

I had my supervision with my manager and I bit the bullet. I explained my need for a better work-life balance. I said I was struggling but hopefully my performance at work was not suffering. It was agreed that it was not.

I said from 2018 I was thinking I would like to work 4 days a week. It was agreed I could. The best thing is it was agreed I could STILL have my 2 WFH days but I would go into the office 2 days per week instead of 3. I would work 2 days from home have 1 day off and then work 2 days in the office before 2 days off. I would only work today and tomorrow in a row. I will have 4 days in row at home. The other person who works 4.5 days comes into the office 4 days so I am very lucky. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED AND IT HAS BEEN AGREED.:T

The other bonus is until 2018 when I can afford to drop a day I can do compressed hours so I begin to work a 4 day week from late October :T

I am due to run my course tomorrow. This has caused me lots of stress but if it goes okay (and if I step outside of myself it usually does) I will have some extra money :)

Oh, and I booked a day off as I am working Sunday and Monday so 7 days work in a row and rather than moan I thought I would take some action instead.;)

    Today went well :j
