Orange damaging credit rating

Hi
To cut a very long story short. I checked my credit rating on Noddle and found that it had dropped substantially due to an Orange "late payment "for £14

I have had no bill or demand from them, I have been with them for years and always paid DD.
This happened when I changed from Orange to EE (same company?)
I have now done much correspondence with the (I use the term loosely) Customer complaints team etc and have got nowhere.
I would really like to know if this practice is legal without a clear bill/demand?
Looking on the internet this is a regular practice by this company and I feel very sorry for people that have not checked their ratings and get their ratings trashed through absolutely no fault of their own...

  • 1). From the date you made a formal complaint to EE, count 8 weeks.

    2) When they ignore you (and they will) go straight to CISAS, demand an apology, £100 compensation and that your credit file be corrected. Provided your case is sound, they will then - but only then - immediately conced to all your demands.

BEWARE - NEVER accept any written assurances from EE that they have corrected your credit files. I had two or three letters confirming that my extrernal credit files would not show any adverse entry due to their similar mistake. A year later I found the same entry you have.

I would add that I have followed the EE complaint then CISAS route three times in as many years, and always with the result described. They don't care and they don't learn...

So have you checked that you haven't missed a payment? If you didn't receive a bill you should have chased them up, has a DD failed and a payment been missed?
