  • I applied for a Clydesdale account online late on Thursday night (28th). At the end of the application a message came up saying they needed to do more checks and would either email or SMS me a link to the outcome within two days. So far, nothing.

How quickly have others been contacted?

Oh, I wonder if I have missed it somehow. Can't see anything in trash or bulk mail :/

Hi I have not received any emails, I discovered that I had been rejected after 3 or 4 days when I logged in again in the application. After a week or so I received a letter from YB.
  • Ah, so possibly bad news. I will attempt to log and and see what it says. Thanks.
  • Just logged in to resume my application. No rejection at this point, but after a few seconds the same message about needing more time and getting back to me within two days. I guess I need to be more patient.

    Well impressed.
    Just applied online.
All done and dusted, got my a/c number, internet and phone banking set up, debit card and PIN ordered, switch date arranged.
    Easiest and most efficient ever.

I applied for M & S account 3 or 4 weeks ago; they asked for proof of my income, then didn't answer my e-mails asking for clarification of exactly what they wanted.
So now I can tell them not to bother, and get my 150 pounds for switching to Yorkshire bank instead.

Don't forget to order your security token! Otherwise you may be inconvenienced somewhat in trying to get your money out.
  • I did a switch to Yorkshire Bank last November in order to get the bonus advertised on here. I checked on the phone that I was applying in time, though by the time all the paperwork came through for signature the date was passed, but I was told it would be OK.
Now I can't find any information about this older bonus, how much, when it would be paid etc. I think I fulfilled all the T & C. I have a vague recollection of 60 days. Can anyone help, please?

From memory it was the same (or largely the same) as it is now, ie switch 2 DDs and maintain them, pay in £1K (just once?...unless current account direct?), 70 day wait, etc. One of MSE's November weekly emails said the offer was finishing on 30/11/15.

Maybe check back over previous threads? Try the forum search tool? Hopefully someone reproduced them in full on here.

Learning point...next time take a screen dump or copy and paste into a document. :)
