That just sounds like sour grapes because you haven't read things properly.

Cheers for making me laugh this morning. It met all the conditions of the price matching . The part they deny it on is not mentioned ie .. returns/failed delivery.
    please read the post again.

Sour Grapes - it means that they put down something simply because they can't have it.
I am going to RS to see if they will price match and pickup today, if not I will be ordering it for one of the other stores.

Maybe a Freudian sour grapes ? TV envy lol

I don't think Richer Sounds will beat the price of a tv with a 5 year warranty,as they are offering 6 years, so it's not like for like.

Their conditions say that the warranty must be the same and the price must include delivery (which theirs does, where applicable ie not a store only product) unless the other company is within 50 miles of the Richer Sounds store (ie you can personally collect ).

The link says that the other retailer must offer the same service package. Returns is part of the service package, so it isn't an exact replica of service, hence their declining the offer.

I for one am always willing to pay more (especially on large, expensive or electronic items) to have the peace of mind that I can return hassle free to a bricks and mortar shop. It seems reasonable that JL would attribute value to that and not price match.

'Never Knowingly Undersold' ... Which part of that says anything about returns .. or missed deliveries?

Its description in itself is misleading, I have pointed out to them now that 3 stores were selling the same item with the same warranty under the same deliver conditions as all stipulated in their own Conditions for price matching and they point to something in each website which is unrelated to the conditions set out.

By definition over the last 2 weeks I have informed them of these stores, yet knowing of these stores and prices they have now raised the price from £1799.00 to £2,299.00

So please explain if you are aware of stores selling it at a lower price than you (As I have informed them) how can you claim to never knowingly be undersold, even better still raise the price above a lot more stores ?

This was going to be my first dealing with JL, I left far from impressed and likely to avoid using them in the future if they manipulate the wording on something as trivial as their 'logo' god knows what they would be like should a problem arise.

(This is purely academic as I have ordered SAMSUNG UE65JU7000 from another store)

I am surprised that JL have refused to match the price. All their TV comes with a 5 year warranty as standard.
If you are unhappy escalate the complaint and hopefully it will be resolved to your satisfaction. Their customer service is very good.
  • It's pretty clear Never Knowing Undersold is just marketing talk, because if they were being undercut they would automatically reduce their prices, rather than having individuals quote a competitors offer.

...and you work for? Currys/PC World? A Company notorious on this site for not delivering peoples rights. Give me JL every day of the week compared to your employer.

Both TV exactly with warranty the same

You're making a big song and dance about this obviously as you've since posted several times. Can I ask you, if the other store had the same or better deal (including warranty) then why didn't you buy it from them? Surely it would be better to support a small business than buy from a large chain that gets loads of business anyway?

It annoyed me that someone advertises a promise then does not uphold it. There are now a dozen stores selling the item lower than they are yet they hold the promise they are not knowingly selling it higher ... well I informed them so it is lies.
    Plain and simple.

JL was actually closer than the 2 I was quoting so it was beneficial for me to try to have it matched so I could go instore and collect rather than wait for a delivery. As it turns out I ended ordering a newer model from another store so am awaiting its delivery.

As to why I posted it ... if someone buys something from JL and thinks they will refund the difference because you found it cheaper .. be prepared

You misunderstand ... it wasn't YOUR post that was quoted. CHC does work for Currys/PC World.
