I doubt that the Co-op would count that as a separate DD. Rather, it would be the same DD, just paying more frequently than monthly.

The T&Cs don't specify the direct debits have to be to different accounts or organisations. They simplay say at least four Direct Debits must be paid...
6.3.5 at least four Direct Debits must be paid from the Nominated Account during that Calendar Month

I'd imagine a weekly savings account DD might prompt them to invoke condition 10.6.4 ;)

I doubt anybody is going to do 30 transactions/month just for £1.50 unless they're using it as their main account (i.e. losing out on interest from other accounts). Just imagine how !!!!ed you'd be if the person in front of you at the only nearby ATM was taking out £300, £10 at a time

Hmmm might give it a whirl though and change one of my two current Tesco DDs with Coop to weekly as had forgotten it had a weekly option....and see if it works for Jan.

Actually just managed to set up an additional monthly payment by adding the same Coop bank details as 'New' for each savings account. So will now need to login to Coop in the next day or two to see if they appear under separate DD mandates albeit as noted above it doesn't say have to be separate. And just noticed that already have two DD mandates set up for another of my current accounts under same Tesco saver as they were originally under different savers but during the current account switch Tesco moved one of them to the other saver (likely due to the known issues they have with transferring across DD during current account switches).

Hopefully that'll be my 4 DD done and dusted for the monthly cash reward then....

Website says it's 5p a pop every time you use your Co-operative "debit card to pay for things". I doubt cashmachine withdrawals would count. :)
  • Am I the only one who gets a message from tesco asking for evidence - hard copy statements - that the account to be debited exists in my name. Not easy when the account has only just been opened :(

Never had that myself and have set up a lot of DDs with them including very recently......think one or two people mentioned the same thing on one or two other threads recently though.

I have a Tesco internet savings account and a instant access account - but only the former appears on line.

Can you also add the instant access account - as their website implies - and how do you do it as their internet banking only seems to allow you to add credit cards?

Would be keen to use both Tesco accounts to provide 2 of the 4 DDs - so would be useful to know.
