Details are on the (currently very slow) website now:

Online application or phone the number. T&C:#Supermarket shopping 5% cashback Terms and Conditions:
1. 5% Cashback will be paid on purchases which are identified by Merchant Category Code 5411 and are applied to your Abbey credit card account between the date of account opening and 31st January 2008 or any later date which we notify to you in writing.
2. Merchant Category Code 5411 is an industry category code which identifies the retailer as a food store, therefore in certain situations some supermarkets may not be identified by this code and cashback will not apply to those transactions. For specific retailer and transaction acceptance details call 0845 7654321.
3. During the offer period, the maximum amount of Merchant Category Code 5411 purchases which are eligible to earn Cashback is £1,000. If we pay you cashback for purchases over £1,000 of spend, we may subsequently debit your credit card with the overpayment of cashback.
4. Supermarkets within Merchant Category Code 5411 include Asda, Co op, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Somerfield, Tesco, Waitrose. Marks and Spencer is not included.
5. The cashback usually does not apply to supermarket petrol purchases or convenience stores attached to supermarket petrol outlets.
6. The Cashback award is supplied by Santander Cards Limited and not the Supermarket. This Cashback does not impact on any other offers supplied by the supermarkets.
7. We will pay you any Cashback you have earned by crediting your Abbey credit card.
8. No Cashback will be payable on purchases that you subsequently cancel or return to the Supermarket for a refund. Where Cashback has already been paid into your account for such purchases, that amount may be deducted from your account.0 -
it appears from the website that MBNA no longer supply Abbey's cards0

The Abbey page linked to also states that purchases are 0% for the first 3 months.
Still, it's a very poor cashback arrangement which relies on customers being aware of a unique 'Merchant Category Code' of every store they go into (why not just list all the qualifying retailers at the outset?).....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -
That has been the case since last year. Santander now supply their own cards !
Apparently the Abbey cards beginning with 412, 491, 518, 540, 544, 545 or 552 are still underwritten by MBNA. They now have to use an alternative log-inn (leading to MBNA).
Confusing??? You tell me!!!0 -
Yep, the same as bengal-stripe, 2 cards renewed in august with abbey logo and still got to log in to MBNA credit card website, as before. I've got different numbers on both cards and they had to be reactivated by calling a number.
I wonder why those numbers were picked up to carry on with MBNA. I thought that, in the past, all the cards were supplied by MBNA and that when santander was to take over all the cards would be moving to santander.0
