Washing Hair Everyday

I wash mine everyday, maybe I'll skip once in a while on a week end. Use dove so nothing too heavy as a shampoo. I stopped the £5 (or maybe more nowadays bottle) as then I need a stripper shampoo to get them light again.
And what has really helped me in stopping damaged hair has been stopping wearing nylon & polyester clothes/jackets.
Only wear coton, from time to time wool and don't get any breakage. I would go to hair dresser once a year
Hope my experience helpsMFW on your mark0 -
My unruly thick shoulder length mop gets washed once a week and this works fine for my hair. My poor long suffrering DH is the one that washes it for me as i cant manage it. I often say i will get it cut but i love it long.
Just do what is right for you

I usually use dry on day 50 -
Exactly as previous poster Kim kim. Once a week and dry shampoo on around day 5. However, I do wash it more often when on holiday in hot weather.0

I wash my hair everyday wherever I can, cannot stand the feel of it when it isn't. It makes me feel yucky. I work in a care home either in the kitchen or doing personal care and when I'm not at work I'm out on a horse or on my bike so my hair gets sweaty, greasy and dirty very fast! And particularly when I've been at work I feel it's more hygienic to have a good bath or shower straight after. Ive always had really bad oily skin as well which ends up making the hair around my face oily in turn. For me personally, I enjoy my showers and baths too much also, so I might as well wash my hair whilst I'm at it. I have a bit of a complex about not washing my hair
When I was in hospital for over a month on bed rest lying flat After surgery on my spine I couldn't wash my hair properly for a month, could only damp it with water or use dry shampoo, seriously it got hideously manky and in terrible condition. The nurses did their best but it was awful. The hairdresser spent months getting it back into a reasonable condition again. It was completely greasy, matted, split, damaged and it had a nasty musty/damp wet dog smell that lasted for months afterwards even with normal washing. After that, i think my hair is better suited to being washed more. Never want my hair to become anywhere near that bad again. No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2015/2016/2017/2018

I wash mine every day and have done for years. I have short, thick, fine hair and when I wake up it's sticking out all over the place. It's easy for me to wash it when I'm in the shower.
The only times I don't wash my hair is if I'm at home all day and not going anywhere which is rare. I usually have to wet it down to stop it sticking up which takes ages, so it's often quicker to wash it but not dry it. My hair feels awful though if I don't wash it.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

I was just wondering if it matters where you live;
I'm in London and there is a lot of pollution (apparently we've already hit our quota for the year which is kind of scary...).
As I've said I already have to wash my hair every other day at least or it itches and just feels irritating. I've gone from every day to every other day about 2 years ago and despite trying to sit with the itchy feeling and changing my shampoo/conditioner (dry shampoo makes things worse). I've been trying for about a year or more to go 3 days but am really struggling...I've got very damaged hair and a lot of the damage I'm sure is to heat damage (hair dryer) and lime from the hard water drying my hair out. I wash my body every day but try to limit washing my hair every day.
I was wondering if the feeling I need to wash my hair came from either living in a hat so many hours of the day or being in an environment where there is a lot of pollution and maybe this is why my hair feels like it needs to be washed so frequently and why I'm struggling to go any longer than 2 days.
Is there anyone here who lives in a major city where there is a lot of pollution who has managed to go longer than 3 days or more without washing their hair?0 -
I live in London and try to wash my hair every other day, but sometimes I can go 3 days without washing it, these days usually consist of mass amounts of Batiste and putting my hair up in a bobble. I only do this if I woke up later than I should or didn't have time to wash my hair!0

When I was younger and had greasier hair I used to use dry shampoo and if anything it just made my hair even grubbier, it just added layers of powder on to the grease.
That's probably because you didn't brush it out properly - easy to do but not how dry shampoo works.0
