I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it. :)

    Will you wear a hat?

I had to when DD got married, and my outfit was the kind that needed a hat.

To make sure I would feel comfortable in it, I wore it round the house quite a bit. It sounds daft, and probably looked it at times, but it did the trick. By the time the wedding day came, I was totally at ease with it and wasn't self-conscious about it.

I've had the hat question asked of me and I flatly refused - my head and hair just don't do hats.

I noticed in open all hours the other night the ladies had a lot of these fasciinator things on headbands but I think I would still look ridulous

Mr TS decided to do his tax return that's why I shut up.

He hasn't done any self employed work last tax year so only had details from his P60 to enter and still ended up owing tax. :(

Right yet another early start tommorow but a question before I go

The parents of the groom at a wedding - do they have an actual roll to play, any specific things they are supposed to do or tasks etc - I am thinking traditional and old fashioned weddings?

Or do they just have to show up on the day?

Yes I know its an odd question, just something I've been thinking about

If he has not worked self-employed in the last year, cant he call them up and just avoid doing it this year??
From HMRC............Closing your Self Assessment account
If you used to send a tax return but you didn’t have any undeclared income in the last tax year, contact HMRC to close your Self Assessment account.

You must also tell HMRC if you’ve stopped being self-employed.

Does it have to be in by January 31st

I do Ohs self assessment form and as soon as the p60 arrives I have to get the wretched form filled in and sent off. He only owes a tiny ammount so they just do a tax code adjustment - it's just a short version of the form.

I still have not quite got my head around what is happening with the tax changes next year but I am not thinking about it until we get a letter of some sort
