Barclays have put my account under review

Hi guys,
I have randomly found out after being locked out of my online banking that Barclays have put my account under review.
I can't understand why as I'm 22 and haven't done anything dodgy. One person said it was a check that can happen at any point. Another person said it was the fraud department and that there wasn't any other information.
If I want any money out I, have to go into branch all my id and payslips to get money out.
The only thing I can think of is this month my brother and a friend put in some extra money into my account but were talking about £1030 which is not all that much. The only thing else is that as I started a new job and received about 800 from job and 600 from another, however, the 600 was done via bank transfer again.
Ugh i can prove everything but I'm panicking as I've read that all the other banks may not accept me if Barclays decide to block me????
Someone please help? what do I do?

When all is resolved, kick the sods at Barclays into touch, and don't forget to tell them why you're doing so. Given that they are currently f***ing you about big time, I'm not sure when it's best to open new accounts - now or when everything is back to normal. Others will hopefully advise.0

Will it be resolved though. how long will i have to wait until i have access to my accounts.0

Something you've done has either triggered their money laundering regs or you have some type of CIFAS fraud marker against your name. There are numerous threads on this board relating to the same subject with different banks. Not sure what you can do at this point in time except perhaps wait for the inevitable letter which will hopefully tell you how to proceed.I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly, and I can move and merge threads there. Any views are mine and not the official line of moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Shows clearly how useless our regulators and 'consumer panels' are.0 -

this could be construed as unusual activity - was it a gift to you, or some sort of temporary arrangement where it goes back out to them later? The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
The thing is i have relly bad anxiety and i have been having panic attacks all day0

@mgdavid my brother loaned me the money. My friend also lent me the money as I was moving houses, so I needed some money. So it was all to be paid back
I can get written and or get my brother and my friend to go to their head office or court to prove it.
I am wondering whether i wait ( very hard with severe anxiety and stress) or just open a new account elsewhere.0 -

How exactly would you do that, and what would you hope to achieve by it? Never heard so much nonsense.
OP, if you are unhappy with Barclays, you could consider switching to another bank. Albeit if the use of your account continues with the same pattern, any other bank might also be unhappy with it.
How did your brother and your friend pay the money into your account? If it was by bank transfer, it could be that one or both of their accounts are flagged, and yours got flagged as a consequence.
You should spend some time with Barclays to try and find out what they don't like about your account usage. Panicking if you have done nothing wrong won't do you any good. If you are uncertain, take a trusted friend with you when you go into Barclays but don't delay going to see them.0 -

They paid via bank transfer. Im just not sure I having 1k extra this month has pushed me to have my bank closed. Im panicking about not having a bank and then not being able to open up another one- how will I get paid, how will I survive?.
The majority of stories indicate that I should prepare for my account to be terminated, and it seems there is never any chances given to plead cases or provide evidence.0 -
Do you have sufficient cash to see you through the weekend? If not, get to the bank now.
It sounds like you acknowledge your recent account activity is unusual, and this is what any bank will do when they spot something out of the ordinary, to protect them and yourself. I had similar a few years ago and it was sorted in a few days. Give them a call on Monday and ask to speak to the fraud team, they should be able to tell you what is going on.0
