What’s the deal?

RAC is offering 90 days personal roadside rescue cover, just for registering on its car buyer website. This is perfect for anyone who doesn’t have cover or who’s cover is running out and wants to bridge the gap for nowt; better still you can sign up now for it to start anytime ahead.


How to grab the free cover.

Simply sign up and select the date you want your free cover to start up to a maximum of three months ahead. You’ll then receive an email, to print off and show if you need assistance.

Do note that the cover’s not available for light commercial vehicles, taxis or drivers under 18.

What does the cover include?

This is RAC’s standard roadside assistance policy, where they'll simply fix your car if you break down while out - see a full guide to what this includes.

Do you have to cancel the subscription after 3 months or does it automatically expire after 3 months?

Is it possible to use up this 90 day cover and then register again through quidco for the £9 deal (provided that it is still available after 90 days) ? Quidco says that it is valid for new registrations only and not for renewals - seems like it wont be effective but just wanting confirmation from someone who has got the 90 day deal

I have just done it, you don't have to give any credit card details, just basic contact info (email, postal address and phone number). They say they will contact you towards the end of the period, presumably to sell you the full-price version. The only other disadvantage is that you are joining a mailing list for the RAC car-buying site, but it says you can unsubscribe from this at any time.
