When people say "reputable company" do they just mean a large well publicised company?
I am no expert but would have thought that part of the package (ie contract) was based on the transfer time. Why would the company mention it in the brochure if that wasn't the case.
I see no reason why you should forfeit your deposit if the company cannot deliver what you have agreed on.
The last package holiday I had was to Kefalonia probably 12 years ago, a huge delay on return the company (olympic) was useless. Mostly prior to that and always since I have booked the various components individually. It has worked out far cheaper and of a better standard. More so if it goes tits up it's only me to blame.
    Good luck.
