as some one else pointed out , transfers can be long winded due to having to drop people off at several resorts. Have you tried googling it

It was advertised as 40-45 minutes for the coach transfer - you shouldn't expect to then 7 months later get an email to say it was advertised wrong & is in fact 90-120minutes. I don't need google to tell me anything, my original question was asking if anybody know where I stood regarding getting back the money we've already paid for the deposit

I expect First Choice will argue this is not a fundamental/ material change, and I would be inclined to agree with them - unless you specified to them that the transfer time was key to your holiday. It's frustrating, but it is only two or three hours of your holiday.

Would a change of hotel work for you? They are more likely to offer to waive the usual change fee than provide a refund.
  • Apparently we CAN change although we will be paying the difference in holiday prices, so no matter how I look at it, first choice will be benifitting cash wise for any option more suitable to us.
2hr+ transfer time isn't an option. We spaciffically wanted a hotel with short transfer times as there's my daughter who gets terrible travel sickness, another family that are also due to travel with us will have a very young baby too so it was a very important factor to booking the holiday

What will you do if the flight is delayed - what about if one person is late for the transport delaying the start of the transfers??

Too many things here don't make sense to me - maybe staying at home is the sensible option in this hazardous world we live in .
  • JonesMUFCforever ...... Very helpful 🤔

For those that have offered advise on my op, thanks .....

Did you stipulate you must have a short travel time to the agent, did you speak to anyone or did you book online?

Have you actually looked at a map and worked out how long the journey could be? It's worth doing, they may be overestimating the journey time. If you want to tell us where you're going someone may have experience of the area.

jones makes a valid point. There are lots of variables with travel beyond your control, including flight changes, delays, roadworks causing diversions. Sometimes you just have to go with the flow. I certainly wouldn't let it spoil your holiday.

Could you give us an idea of which airport to which resort?
There may be less stressful options out there that are affordable and you may even get FC to refund the transfer costs
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

I think if I had a child who gets terrible travel sickness, I would want a private transfer and a very short transfer time, for myself and the other passengers on the coach!

It was reserched in that we searched for hotels within a certain travel distance from the airport. You'd hope that a reputable company such as first choice would have the facts correct - seems not.

    that's my point - I wouldn't hope, I check!
Lesson learned for the future I guess.
Hope it is sorted to your satisfaction, do please let us know how it turns out.
