Thursday 7th January - What small DFW things will you do today?

  • Afternoon everyone!

I've a child-free day today so it's a day of getting lots of jobs done, hopefully in a DFW kinda way

:D Drop DS1 off at school then carry on to the solicitors to hand in some documents to speed up the house sale
:D Go and collect OHs shoes from Timpsons that they're bizarrely not going to charge me for (I haven't quite figured out why she wrote 'no charge' on the ticket for the repair. I'm a bit concerned that she's got me mixed up with someone else as she was overly-friendly when I went in, but I'm not complaining!)
    :D B/L/D from stores
    :D Clean the hob
:D Sort out DS2's baby clothes to sell in bundles and photograph for FB selling pages (whilst treating myself to an hour watching last night's Grey's Anatomy and a brew)
:D If I get time, advertise the baby clothes along with all my maternity clothes on FB/Ebay to bring in some cash to keep us afloat this month - mega skint month!!

We can't have a NSD as I need to fill the car up and am booked in for waxing. I know the latter isn't very DFW but is something I've always had done and don't think I could cope with being hairy or the itch of constant shaving :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Morning guys  thanks for starting us off ally :A hope you enjoy your weekend :D

Darn Murphey's law legomum! My eyes always water at your list. How can you get so much done in a day??!

Foxgloves hope you feel better soon. I've been having several vision migraines recently which are stress induced, really feel for you x Oh am making headway on the socks :j (helpful to distract me from the stress of my dd being so ill at the moment. Have been drowning recently but I believe she has come to the peak of it and things will now start to get better again, I managed to meet with her yesterday and she is willing to return home and make a referral to the mental health team)

Thanks Determined, most of my list is quick little things but I do find ticking them off means I get things done :) Its beautiful blue sky here which is so nice after all the dark grey days, just hoping that it will be like this again tomorrow when the little monster will be back in school!
Good to hear that you saw your dd
  • Afternoon all, have enjoyed reading your DFW small things for today.

Im childfree today as all kiddies back to school which leaves me today and tomorrow to get myself ready for work on Monday.

Had dentist this morning so that's £30 flown out of my pocket. I used to do the monthly dental plan but at £18/mth I thought I'd be better off just going for 2 check ups a year and 1 hygienist...at least until I get to the point where I need more regular work on my teeth. The 18/month didnt cover work such as fillings. So that's £156/year instead of £216.
I know i could go to an NHS dentist but the kids are all at my dentist so Im loathe to start trying to squeeze us all in now to a new one.

Spent a couple of hours updating budget spreadsheet until March and calendar with school stuff & bdays.

Rang CPW as I recently took out a contract phone for DD3 (she paid for the phone out of xmas/bday money) as I was supposed to get a £50 currys/pc world voucher with it. I picked phone up in store but it wasnt with the package. Lady on phone said I had to go back to store for them to confirm I should've received it. Sounds like a faff to me. Printed off email and will take tomorrow... Im not going to make a special trip so will incorporate it into tomorrows journey. I hope they dont mess me about.

Lunch will be pate & toast.

You should look at ASAP Science on YouTube - they have some brilliant science questions and answers on there, and there's a brilliant Periodic Table song.
*not that I'm a chemistry geek or anything* :p

    Thanks, I'll have a look.

    Hi all

What a day. Totally crazy day.

Need to update grocery amount for Jan. It is going to be difficult to stay in budget given my spend yesterday.

I have checked banking. Need to swim more, monthly amount goes out and I must swim twice a month to make it pay.
Another NSD here, but was much needed.
Get well soon foxgloves, am thinking of you.

    Maria.
