  • Good Morning everyone, very wet here last night and first thing this morning. Rain has now cleared but some very black looking shower clouds in the sky and I have pan pipes playing in the window frames again as the wind is very strong. I'm doing some cooking this morning, making leek and potato soup, have made a jelly mousse with half a can of whipped evaporated milk and a raspberry jelly made up to 1/4 pint whipped into it. I used to make these lots when the girls were younger and just fancied one today so as I had the milk and the jelly.... I'll be making cauliflower and broccoli cheese for lunch too as I've some needing to be used up.

DUMPLING hope you're OK this afternoon and that you gain something useful from the meeting pet.

We're staying in when I've walked that hound after lunch and lighting the stove, we didn't yesterday, my brother and SIL pulled out of the quiz at the pub very last minute at 8 o clock and we decided not to go and by then it was too late to light up so the house is feeling very chilly today, lots of layers on so not freezing but definitely a day to stay on the move and be active.

Have yourselves a nice day everyone, Lyn xxx.

Hello everyone, I am back from my appointment for my assessment. The psychologist was absolutely lovely and it all went well I think, unfortunately the waiting list to actually access therapy is 8 - 12 months long so there we go. He was very apologetic about it but unfortunately there have been so many cuts to the NHS especially mental health services and the demand for therapy has hugely increased so that's just the way it is. At least I am in the system so to speak. Anyway, thank you all for your well wishes, I felt very supported xxx
  • Dumpling I am pleased it went well, shame about the wait, but this seems to be the norm regarding mental health. I think more money needs to be available.

    Hugs

    Hugs to all.

Had my day at home with my little girl yesterday, which was lovely, so had a NSD but had to have heating on for most of the day, as temperature has really dropped in our little part of the world. Managed to get rid of three bags of books/magazines in my latest bid to declutter.

It is so nice to see sunshine and blue skies again, not sure how long it will last for though!

At work this afternoon, and OH has overtime so wont be home until 7.30.
Not sure what to have for dinner, thinking maybe Sausage and Mash?

Looking forward to relaxing tonight as my little girl had me up from Midnight to 2.30am. Thankfully she slept through until 8.30am, but think we are both tired. Not sure what was wrong, she was just very fidgety, like she couldn't get comfy.

Heating not on at home, as we are not in, but sure it will have to go on when we get home. Have checked Gas and Electric online billing, and we are in credit, which is always nice. I really would struggle without my tumble dryer at this time of year.

Hope all are ok. I really do love reading through everyone's posts.

    XxX

Well done Dumpling, so pleased you kept your appointment and they now have you in the system. It sounds like a long wait but should be worth it.

Good news re my friend who had a mastectomy just before christmas - she had a check up today and the cancer has gone, just has to have a short course of chemo as a precaution. Don't know about her but I just keep smiling!

Csarina, I will be thinking of you tomorrow, you haven't been far from my thoughts throughout this awful time.

    Afternoon all,

Hope it all goes OK tomorrow, will be thinking of you Csarina.

Had a bit of a rubbish day really. Met with the OT at dad's home this morning. She was actually quite positive. She believes he will be home sometime next week. I'm not sure if from a purely selfish point of view, for me, things will get worse. He does like to moan about everything and can be quite lazy. He sent a text this morning saying he had to get out of there (the rehab home) but keeps putting barriers up as to why he can't walk, bend, move etc. He knows it's in his hands but insists on not being proactive and it's starting to annoy me now.
I broke the necklace DH bought me for Christmas and so feel gutted about that too. I caught my finger in it while I was hoovering and ripped it off!

Anyway moans over.... DH and DS2 are going to watch football on dad's tv tonight as he has a sports channel so I get to watch some stuff on catch up :)
  • I haven't seen Butterfly Brain posting since Christmas, I hope she is OK.
