Morning everyone,
Wet and windy here, the rain woke me in the night and then didn't get back to sleep so tired today.
Applied for a job yesterday, trying not to get too excited as it's just what I was looking for hours wise and it's for a family firm based just a few miles away so no long commute to factor in but we will see, it's the first try so least have started the process.
This morning will need to tackle the ironing as that seems to have built back up to momentous proportions again, then hopefully can get Bill out this afternoon if the weather dries up as promised.
Hugs to all in need and thinking of you Dumpling, strength m'dear x0 -
Morning, it has rained through the night but the weather report is good - maybe not good enough to put the washing on the line.
Today I am going to the optician, hooray for free eye test. I have stuff to do but nothing especially interesting.
Good wishes for those who will need them today.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Good morning everyone.
The wind battered the house all night again and it sounds wet outside. I went to bed really late yesterday and have just woken up.
Yesterday I went to our local wee post office and got my new passport photos done. I'll get it all sent off today. I also ordered some foreign currency as a Christmas present for a friend who is off on a three week holiday soon. I did this last year and she really appreciated it.
I cleared out the under window cupboard in the upstairs hall. Stuff still in boxes from when we left Newcastle two years ago. Most of it is in the bin now. I also did a bit of tidying up in the back barn to make space for a new lidded plastic storage box - found that my winter store of porridge oats was being nibbled by mice. That packet was poured out into the garden for the birds.
As I was clearing the cupboard I saw the lovely red squirrel drop down from the big tree and clamber onto the peanut feeder. I was stuck watching for at least half an hour!
Food yesterday was the final portion of venison so today I'll be taking liver out of the freezer to have.
Dumpling - you'll be fine as you're going somewhere to get therapy, focus on the good it will do you.
Csarina - loved your new flooring in the hall.
Camelot - I really hope your DD finds something soon.
First cup of tea is waiting.
Happy Thursday everyone, whatever it brings.0 -
Morning, ((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))) if you need one. Getting my hair cut today ready for tomorrow, I hope its not raining. Funerals at any time are awful but 10 times worse if its raining.
Off into town later to do a top up veg shop we are eating mostly out of the freezer and store cupboards now.0 -
Good morning thank you Hester
Very wet here and has been raining for most of the night. It is definitely cooler as well.
We have to pick up our prescriptions this morning and then pop to see Sister and BIL. We haven't seen them since before Christmas because they were both unwell, firstly with a nasty cold and then a really nasty tummy bug, so I thought it best to stay away.
This afternoon we are both going to the surgery for our shingles jab. Csarina I know you suffered some effects after yours, so keeping fingers crossed here.
Csarina I will be thinking of you tomorrow. You have behaved with dignity throughout this dreadful event, and this is the last thing you can do for your dear Son, so keep your distance if anything kicks off. Those who have behaved badly will have to live with the consequences of their actions.
Dumpling I hope all goes well this afternoon, chin up chuck you will be fine you have waited a long time for your appointment
NMIC you seem to be having a very productive week I hope DS keeps the bedroom tidy. I know what it is like when you work fulltime, these jobs left because you are too busy catching up on cleaning, washing and ironing at the weekend.
Hugs to anyone else who would like or need one

Hi everyone. Sorry to hear that some of you have a tough day today - hope all goes well.
I'm in a bit of a flump this morning - did two different things last night (gym and a meeting) and both things have made me feel a bit down in the dumps. May just be PMT though!!!
Had a bit of a spendy day yesterday - spent £7 on coffees for friends as they all bought me coffees before Christmas. Also spent £1 at the gym on a protein bar. Cycled to gym though instead of car.
Not quite sure what we're going to do today. We were going to take the children for a walk in the woods but it is very wet.
Lunch is chicken soup (tried rubber chicken thing last night) but not much chicken in it! Might get nice crunchy roll from bakers as a treat. Got to get a few vegetables today for kids tea and dinner. also got yet another tesco delivery coming tonight - the amount of food we get through is unbelievable!
Tea for children is pizza; family is sausages and potato wedges.
Have a good day all xOct grocery budget £368.40 / 6000 -
Thank you HH, I do read along but most days by the time I have done anything useful I think it's too late to post. I will start to post my good intentions maybe and see how many I can do
Today I will be making fairy cakes for ds, and slimming world quiche for me plus some washing, ironing and a bit of cleaning here and there.
About the potato pie....we have something similar but without the dish. I cook jacket potatoes, halve them and scoop the insides out into a pan, mash with cheese then add onion or whatever else is making it's own way out of the fridge, mix and return to the potato shells with a little grated cheese on top. Oven bake or grill and they're yummy.
RR My sister's ex-husband was a terrible sulker. He once refused to speak to her for two weeks. I asked her what she did about it and she said on the third week when he wanted to talk she refused to speak to him. She found a lovely non-sulker who treats her well once she got shot of Mr Misery guts.
I'm hoping MeanMarie and family are OK. My sister lives in Ireland and it's rained almost constantly for weeks. It's now full with no room for more rain and rats have moved into the flooded houses near rivers. My sister lives up a hill but the road at the bottom is under water almost every other day.
Thinking of you Csarina and good luck with your appointment Dumpling.0 -
Hi everyone,
Dumpling, I hope things go ok today and you manage to get to your appointment.
I wrote a post yesterday and then lost it (my own silly fault) so ended up not posting.
I had to wait in for the delivery of an alarm system, I've never felt the need for one before (and until a couple of years ago we always had a dog) but after a strange incident a little while ago I decided we should get one.
Housework has been abandoned here while I sew. I'm trying to finish a baby quilt for one of DD's bridesmaids but I'm making it hard for myself because she wants animals and I have lots of animal fabrics and I couldn't choose so I have made one top and am in the process of making another to decide which one I want to give her. The other can go to the son of a good friend and his partner who are expecting a baby in June.
I do need to dust and vac the living room though now since DH took out the tree last night.0 -
Morning all,
The rain woke me in the early hours bouncing off the window. It was torrential!
Hubby was in a better mood last night. He's tired and hates the job he's on. On my orders he went and bought some Pharmaton last night. If the vitamins dont work, the ginseng will.
It's 'Youngests' 20th birthday today. This time 20 years ago I was in the final stages of labour. I hope he's having a good day on the job he's on. I won't see him till tomorrow.
Well at the Grand age of 53, I never thought I'd be toilet training a 2 year old again. He's not doing too bad up to now. No accidents as yet.
Csarina thinking of you....
Onwards and forwards,

Good Morning everyone another rainy day here as well.
Just pottering around this morning I have to pick DGS Henry up from school at 2.00 to take to the orthodontists in Frindsbury. Then I always treat him from my Happy Cash Stash to a MaccDs milkshake
:):) He is a good lad and no trouble to me at all, and as he is third in line of four boys, and fairly quiet, I like to have a bit of 'him and me' time.
Plus he makes a darned good cup of tea every afternoon when he gets in from school
and that's all good in my book:):):)
DGS Ben is off back to Uni on Saturday and we will miss him dreadfully, but at least its a short term as Easter is a bit earlier this year.
<<Hugs>> to those in need, I know some of you are experiencing a tough time at the moment.
Take care everyone and try to keep warm and dry
