Do these boxes have the 'card slot' built in ? My intention is to subscribe to Setanta sports and a card slot is required
I don't know. But you might want to buy one from Aldi (available from today - 30th). Details here http://uk.aldi.com/special_buys/productnl_352.html
£44.99 inc 1st month's Setanta subscription.0 -
I really do not have a clue - do you have to have an aerial up on the roof or whatever for the Freeview box to work? I do not have one, having to rely on a satellite dish (and Sky  ) for a decent picture here in deepest, darkest, un-cabled Cumbria.0

brilliant bargain, and plenty available at Tesco Swindon, Wiltshire.0

RED Button question for someone who has one - if you try BBC News for example, press the red button and select News Multi Screen do you get the error:
Due to technical difficulties this service is currently unavailable
Thanks (or is multiscreen only available to pay monthly TV such as SKY, Virgin etc?).0 -

You might be better off cancelling your Sky subscription if you're not still tied into a contract; you'll still get most of the 'free' channels..0 -

cheersvery unlikely, but if you have a very strong TV signal in your area, I guess it is possible.
You can buy Freeview capable internal ariels for about a tenner, although how good they are, I don't know
A few extra notes here. The built in ariel will be ok if you are in a good reception area - an external or boosted one would probably be better.
You will probably need a SCART connector on the TV too. Most Freeview boxes do not pass the Freeview channels down the ariel cable to the TV. (Some do... I've got a Pioneer that does.) Check the spec if there is no SCART.

Milton Keynes availability - None at Bletchley but "lots" at Kingston according to the young man who answered the phone at the electrical department. Also kindly agreed to reserve one for me over the phone0

Are these Freeview boxes actually any good?
If my signal is not very good, a simple booster will be okay right?0 -
When I got SKY+ I got a new line put in to another room too and still have my old digi box, question is am I better getting a cheap freeview box like this or buying a FTV (Free To View) card from SKY for £20?0

When using a booster do not turn the booster up all the way assuming you will get a better picture you have to adjust it up and down to get a good picture.
My daughter has and old ariel on her box and gets all the channels but it depends on where you live
but i would try to get one with a card slot for TOP UP TV cards SETANTA etc0
