Some people just can't seem to get their head round it! They just see the bundles and can't understand that they are just an extra on top of the standard PAYG and not instead of.
Hardly a surprise when even when ordering a free SIM, conmen EE force you to chose their damn 'pack': http://shop.ee.co.uk/price-plans/free-sim

I knew that it can be cancelled, but it took me good 5 minutes to find how to cancel the bloody thing. What about people that don't know?

My last EE PAYG sim card with £10 credit expired after a couple of months.

When I rang them up to inquire about my missing credit they were about as useful as a chocolate teapot but the words data sim were used several times.

Appreciate all the advice, I think I've got the gist of it now.

NB Virtually all PAYG plans insist on a transaction every six months or so, even a text or a quick call

Yes we all know that, but thanks anyway fj

Coop is on ee just get a free sim, it works in any unlocked phone, Nokia 1100 from eBay for a tenner.

Buy a £5 top up voucher at any coop or other store with the yellow and blue symbol, forget the name.

Then it's 8p per min for calls, 4p per min to othe coop mobiles.

Simple. Delight looks good also on ee and free calls to delight mobiles, and 3p per min for calls to others. There is always a risk delight will go under,. Coop could as well, after all sainsbury had pulled the plug on their mobile service which was on Vodafone, but I think the coop business model being owned by the customer puts it on a firmer footing.

Delight could go under or increase their call charge if the free service expands as new users join.

    Cheers fj

Voda pulled Sainsburys at contract renewal, also buying out other long term contracted V resellers, its a format they started in AU with 3Voda merger - all revenue third parties OUT, revenue IN and UP.
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

Depending on which mobile provider you go with, the cost of non-inclusive calls to
    - geographic numbers starting 01 and 02
    - non-geographic numbers starting 03, and
    - mobile numbers starting 071-075 and 077-079
can be anywhere from 3p to 45p per minute.

If you paying any more than about 10p per minute, your provider is ripping you off and you need to look for a better deal.

If you regularly spend more than £5 per month you should instead buy a monthly bundle, even if you do not use all of the allowance.

Why even top up with £10?
Many networks will let you topup with £5, some even less...

  • Does anyone know if this EE sim card on ebay will be a bundle or a regular PAYG.

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181908983541?clk_rvr_id=963757572782&rmvSB=true

The listing mentions a chargeable action has to be made on the sim every 120 days, so basically one call must be made every 4 months. But it also mentions something about an active plan where payment is taken every 7 or 30 days.

Don't want to buy it and end up with no credit after a couple of months like the last one I bought.

See HUKD: EE 4G Pay As You Go SIM with £5 credit at eBay/ee-uk-shop for 99p

It's "£1 Talk and Text pack ...with 25 minutes and 50 texts".
Someone reported problems with stopping the pack by sending "STOP PACK".
  • I might buy it and try to cancel the pack via texting 'STOP PACK' and if that fails use the sim card to ring EE up on their 0800 number to cancel the Talk and Text pack from customer services.

99p not too much of a gamble considering the last one I bought cost me a tenner.
