My head as a good supportive wife is telling me to support his plans but every fibre in me is screaming "NO NO NO!"

And what about him being a supportive husband and realising you can't just ditch everything to follow his dreams. There must be a middle ground somewhere? Woe betide any man who texts me "I've decided" about 3-4 months of my year though!!

Really need to get off my !!!! and get to the fabric shop now. Hopfully I won't go too mad!

If "he " has decided then let "him" go. He can't decide for you!

He did not even have the decency to talk to you face to face. Could he be having a mid life crisis and be following pipe dreams? Would the implications of being away for so long deter him . If you live abroad for a certain amount of time you could lose your right to free NHS treatment etc. Would it affect his pension etc?

Sorry to be so blunt but it is not as if he is surprising you to a few days in Paris or something.

    Hugs to all.

    Morning everyone

MandM90 - you asked about the Cheese and Potato pie -

Peel enough potatoes for how many you want to feed. Put in pan of water, boil and the cook them. (In the same way you would for mashed potato).
Once cooked, drain, add some butter/marg/milk - mash. I then cook some bacon (either lardons or cut up rashers of bacon). Whilst the bacon is cooking, grate some cheese - I find using a strong/mature cheese gives better flavour. Once bacon is cooked mix with the mash mixture, and add some of the grated cheese, salt and pepper to your taste. Then put into a ovenproof dish, put remaining grated cheese on top and bake in the oven, until piping hot.

    Hope this helps x

    Afternoon everyone

Just popped on to say hello:wave:
Having a new outside stairlift fitted today. My old one has been broken for over a year, and the stairs are a nightmare for me, so my OT recommended a new one, and Council gave me a grant:T

Also waiting in for a new phone, managed to drop mine in water before Christmas, haven't missed it though:rotfl:

got a rotten chest infection, so rang the Doctor for a prescription, should get it this afternoon/:o

Hope everyone is okay, I am finding it harder to motivate myself these days, I should come on here more!

Anyway, just to let you all know, I'm still here!:T

    Wave to hilstep :hello:

Nice to hear from you and hope your chest infection clears up soon.
Maybe you will feel more motivated once the staircase is done and the days get lighter and hopefully drier. It is still raining here and has been for days.

Friend is coming round for coffee and bringing me her spare packing boxes which is really kind of her. She has also recommended a couple of removal firms in case the one I like can not do what I need.

    Judi

That sounds like a good compromise to me. Well done.

    The sewing group sounds lovely.

    HUgs to all.

We have a coir mat in the front doorway now, much better than the carpet getting dirty. Took them about 20 minutes to do it. no more dirty marks on the carpet for me.

    Brilliant

Judi, you make me feel guilty for complaining about Mr Grumpy!

Hospital running an hour late, we were gone for nearly 4 hours. At least I had my knitting and sewing with me and the WRVS caught me twice for a hot drink!

Salmon for tomorrow, decided that there is pastry in the fridge that I made at NY which should be used up. I'm flexible! DS is going to be late home from London and his interview (going well so far apparently) so he can have a bit when he gets home. Hub is home at an unknown time as well, so it's a better plan. Have a load of eggs and cheese left over from Chrismtas too. Am trying hard not to buy stuff, but to use what we have. Well, that's apart from Ocado special offers....half price decaf teabags of preferred brand!

  • Good Afternoon everyone, it's dry here today and much cooler than it has been, needing hat, gloves and scarf to walk the dog today but we walked fast and I got nice and warm. We met an absolutely sweet little border collie puppy, just 12 and a half weeks old and all fluff, feet and teeth who just wanted to play. Cookie is very good with other dogs and was so patient with being jumped on bless her. I'll look forward to watching him grow into a fine dog .

We had a successful trip to Ikea this morning and got the Zebra a little wooden table for his birthday present, the chairs which go with it are not in until next week so we'll get them when available. It will give him somewhere to do his colouring and play with his little friends and eat his tea now they have room for more furniture. We're visiting on Friday and I'm really looking forward to seeing the new house for the first time.

Hugs to everyone that needs them, look after yourselves, Lyn xxx.
