Sending overpayments to Halifax

Options
We received our mortgage offer from Halifax in the post last week, together with their booklet about their mortgages.

In the overpayments section it said "please send us a cheque"

Are there other ways to send Halifax an overpayment? I was hoping I could use online banking or if not call them and pay over the phone?

Also I bank with Halifax, after the mortgage is up and running can you view it on your online banking and app?

Thank you

Yes you can view it on-line and you can send the overpayments online also - you just quote your Halifax Mortgage Account Number but I would ring them to make sure you get the correct details to send it to.

They have the account number and sort code somewhere on their website. Don't forget to quote your mortgage account number/subaccount number. It takes a few days..

On their website here it says ......
To set up an additional payment using internet banking

You'll need to sign in to your internet account with your bank or building society and create a payment with the following details:

    Sort code: 30 00 00
    Account number: 00332275
Reference number: Your 14 digit mortgage account number followed by 00 or a two digit sub-account number.
