Don't tell my husband I'm being helpful to a Liverpudlian though will you? He'll be there cheering the blues on!
haha, to be honest we both prefer Liverpool as well, but we're in the Everton end. We follow our Scottish football a lot more, boyfriend Hibs and me Hearts, so total opposite teams... Hi Burgh Lass
We have friends that come up for the odd Everton game from Scotland, they always stay in the premier Inn or Travelodge (depending on which they can book). They are the closest to the stadiums, and both close enough to catch a bus or taxi into the town centre of an evening if you so wish.
Saying that both have a pub and restuarant attached, and there is a 3rd pub just opposite them called the Jolly Miller which also serves food.
Enjoy your trip.

If you get there really early you might be able to park in the carpark of the Mons, its a pub / two for one restaraunt. This is where i park, when im lucky enough to get in there ! If its busy you will see all the cars along the road opposite where you can also park. Just be very careful i got stung with a £60 ticket when we played Metalist Kharkiv
Hope you enjoy the game (C'mon the blues) and your stay in my fab city0 -

We need to go down early anyway to pick up our tickets from the main reception.May - Sex and the City tickets. June - £5 spar voucher, July - Sally Hansen nail shine & miracle set, mccains garden games, August - ERB Spa goody bag worth over £1000 -
There are several premier travel inns in the area including one at Aintree which would be handy for rail travel.0

The Mons Pub is on the junction of the beginning of Queens Drive and Southport Road in Bootle.
Here it is http://www.pub-explorer.com/merseyside/pub/monsbootle.htm
(I live 3 mins walk away from it)
So if you're on Queens Drive (you'll see signs for Bootle/ Docks) go towards them you'll go over a flyover (Rice Lane flyover) and it's 600 yards past that.
You can either go straight across at the lights and do a left into the car park there - or do a left at the lights and do a right in the other car park immediately after going though the lights.
As the above poster says, it does get busy on the car park there - so do get there early.
Here's a multimap to the Mons location -http://www.multimap.com/hotels/?&hloc=GB|L209NZ-- when you look at it, click on the right side and drag the map to the left once and then hold the bottom then drag it down once - you should see Everton FC on there - drag down once more and you should see Liverpool FC. (Hope that works2 Tickets to Blackrock Masters Tennis:j0 -

no tickets have been posted out, hence the earlier you get there the better
so long as you go early (9.00-10.00) you can park right next to the ground
without getting a ticket
the parking laws come into effect 1 1/2 hours before kick off0 -

Thanks very much for all your help. We parked at the Mons pub, as we were really early. And it wasn't too bad a walk to the ground.May - Sex and the City tickets. June - £5 spar voucher, July - Sally Hansen nail shine & miracle set, mccains garden games, August - ERB Spa goody bag worth over £1000
