One night in Liverpool city centre

Dear Money Savers
Me and my wife are going to Liverpool on Tuesday evening next week. We have something important to do on Wednesday day over there. It is in the liverpool city centre. We need to spend the night in a hotel in that area so that we don't need to drive from the hotel to the centre. We might need to find a parking space for our car. It is our first time to visit this city.
Any advice will be gratefully recieved.
Many thanks

Haven't lived in Liverpool since 1998 but....anywhere in the Albert docks would be close enough to wander into town.
I think there's a Holiday Inn Express there.
There's the Adephi hotel which is very central (close to Lime Street Station) or the Marriott in Queen Square...both are right in the City centre.
Hope you have a good evening there

There's a new Malmaison close to the Albert dock, which is getting rave reviews, & parking should be plentiful in that area. If you want cheap & cheerful there's an Ibis on the Dock road with free parking. Don't stay at the Adelphi it's nasty!
If you want to stay out of the city the Marriot at Speke is lovely (it's the old Airport building - Art Deco!) with free parking & plenty of buses to get to the city centre. (there's also a Marriot in the city centre itself)0 -
Avoid the Formule 1 at any cost, no matter how desperate you may be. It is filthy, noisy, the door locks are knackered, and it isn't fit for farm animals.0

There are also two travelodges in Liverpool City Centre one right in the centre and one on the docks (which is still pretty near) The one at the docks has its own car park which is free for guests. The hotel in the city centre does have a car park nearby but it is a pay and display (Traffic wardens are everywhere in Liverpool beware!!) I have stayed in both and can vouch that they are clean and good value....especially if you go online and can get the £26 deal!!
I hope you have a nice time in Liverpool wherever you decide to stay (I would agree that you should steer clear of Formula 1!)0 -

Nooooooooooooooooooooo not the Adelphi, its really naff and expensive for what you actually get.
The Holiday Inns (Albert Dock and Lime Street) are both pretty standard, clean and reasonable price. There is a Premier Travel Inn on Vernon Street which is right next to a safe NCP car park and also one near the Holiday Inn on the Albert Dock.0 -
I stayed in the Campanile on the Albert Dock not too long ago.
It's about a 20 min walk into the city centre, clean enough and had parking.
Check hotelscomparison.com to compare prices with others' suggestions - it's always my first port of call when booking a hotel.0 -
Heard you can get big discounts on accommodation in Liverpool if you wear a shellsuit and curly wig...good luck !!!0

my husband and I stayed at the Premier travel Inn in Albert Dock a couple of months ago, it was lovely, and the breakfast was great too.We stayed for 2 nights and walked into the city centre and back quite a few times, only about a 10 - 15 minute walk depending on which part of the city you are going to.0

Me and my boyfriend are going down to Liverpool for the derby on the 20th October, so need a hotel to stay in the night before, we are going to drive down, but normally we take the train and stay city centre. We've decided to stay just outside the centre this time with having the car and will be easier to get back on the motorway to come home, can anybody recommend anything which is reasonable priced?
ThanksMay - Sex and the City tickets. June - £5 spar voucher, July - Sally Hansen nail shine & miracle set, mccains garden games, August - ERB Spa goody bag worth over £1000 -
Most city centre places are booked up months in advance of Liverpool home games so its probably a good job you want to stay a bit further out.
There is a Marriott at the old airport in Speke (about 7 miles out), Holiday Inn at John Lennon Airport (again about 7-8 miles out), Inkeepers Lodge (one is North Liverpool nearer Anfield and one in South Liverpool about 6 miles from town), the Feathers is just a short walk from town by the Catholic Cathedral (Paddys wigwam), The Alicia near Sefton Park (approx 5 miles out). Will have a think and see what else I can some up with0
