  • Hope you and DD are feeling better now Pennywise. Also hope work hasnt been too traumatic! xx

  • OMG I'm so sorry I've been MIA, since going back to work after the summer hols life seems to have been manic and I'm meeting myself coming back, we have also had lots of illness in the house and I don't think a week has gone pat the last 6 weeks when somebody hasn't been ill, including the dog:(.

So the big huge amazing news is the holiday is booked and paid for, not all my own doing, DH has been doing some extra work, received a bonus and relatives have also gifteD us some money that they inherited, not a lot but enough to book hols, now its all about the spends. My target is £2000 although DH is saving separately as are the children:D.

So booking the holiday has spurred me on even more and I'm trying hard to be frugal, last week I did a shop in sainsbugs roughly £50 which I split up and managed to receive £40 worth of points as they had a bonus points thing on, so been shopping today and my weekly shop between sainsbug and ald! came in at £9.71 for the week, go me :j.

Yesterday I sold an £bay item for £5 and cashed £25 from a survey site, this morning I've been stewing apples that I was given so now have several tubs in the freezer for crumbles, beef casserole is cooking in the slow cooker for Mon nights tea, lamb shoulder out for tomorrow and we are at a friends for tea tonight.
got a load of reduced carrots in Mr sainsbugs and have made a huge pan of carrot and coriander soup for about £1.

lovely day today so washing is on the line, wood has been brought in and sticks chopped but don't think I will light stove as we are going out about 4, so if it goes chilly will put on another layer.

    Hope everyone is ok xx

Also got my 7 year badge thingy:j.

I'm pleased you are back Penny, I've missed your updates.

Amazing news about your holiday and now you can focus on your spending money. What are your plans for half term?

Hi chanie and I hope you are well, I will get over to your diary for a catch up.

No real plans for half term as of course we have really battened the hatches down and trying to save, told both children they can have a friend over, we will visit relatives and go swimming but that will be it, thinking frugal baking and walks on the beach with the dogs as well.
  • Just had a lovely box of goodies delivered, Betty cr0cker baking bits for a campaign. Very excited and a few pound saved :D:j.

Thankyou both, its good to be back, I'm much more focussed when I am posting on my diary, seems to keep me on the straight and narrow:).
  • Lovely evening last night and great to catch up.

Beautiful walk with doggies this morning and DD had a nice long ride on pony, love these sunny autumn days.

Made £10 on £bay today which has gone to the hols spending pot and its also been a NSD.

All food today has been from stores, toast and jam for brekkie, HM soup for lunch and Lamb is currently roasting for tea, need to bake shortly as well.

Woodburner is currently burning free wood, I will put CH on later for an hour to take the chill off the kids room, nothing worse than having a shower and getting out and the room is freezing.

Week to go and then half term.

    Hope everyone is ok.x.
