HI all
Determined - thanks for the suggestions. Because we've been in London so long, since 1999 in my case and OH has about 5 years on that we've basically done all of the things we want to do in terms of free site seeing. The Horniman is our local museum. It is a gorgeous thing to have on your doorstep. I like the suggestion of doing what your BFF does and putting local events on the calendar. Also it's great your DGD likes soup. So many kids don't.
That's one thing I'm planning to do this time, make purees instead of weaning on jar food. So that's very similar really.
Candy - the fan museum is gorgeous. It has a wonderful Orangery where you can have tea after your visit.
Chocolate the jar suggestion is great thank you. Glad you are feeling better today too.
So today has been good so far. Went and did the shopping. We didn't put even one thing in our basket we hadn't planned to buy. Nectar points are almost on £5 and got a 5 x points voucher for next time.
Because it's a spend day anyway we went for coffee but didn't buy any cakes just coffees. We had a family meeting about what we'd like to do this year for our days out. Everyone suggested stuff. OH kept notes of it all.
We also discussed what we wanted to do about holiday generally as OH has bought extra holiday for this year. We are going to grab the school calendar and plan who is doing what when for 6 months and put that onto our big wall planner. We can't plan beyond August as DS will start a new school this year and we don't have any dates for that yet.
It was a very useful hour and I think for the cost of £6 was really worth it.
Have come home in the pouring rain, unpacked and made lunch using leftover cold chicken from last night. Slice of xmas cake each. I have made cookie dough which I'm going to throw in leftover Christmas calendar chocolates into later today.
Son did 2 pieces of homework. OH is going to take down the decorations and hoover downstairs before end of the day.
All good.

Hahaha I was quite surprised that he got on and did it! He did have a minor tantrum about it though. Should have seen the younger ones reaction when I asked him to do thank you cards.I am a bit of a stickler about thankyou cards with the boys especially to generous relatives who they haven't even seen. Currently being done with DHs help (in return for X box time!).:j
