Cowboymum can you come round and have a word with my DS1. He wants to do all his homework tomorrow. That means starting it at about 8.30pm tomorrow night I guess. Sigh.
Have just worked out that I should be able to feed everyone for the next week without doing any shopping, except for a bit of fruit and veg. Very pleased.
Right, I guess I am going to have to drag my DS kicking and screaming towards his homework. Macbeth anyone?0 -

Hello everyone
Thank you LaE for starting us off todayhow do you cook the ham and coke? Would like to try it but not sure what is the best way/how to do it.
ClootiesMum - Hope your husband is ok, sending hugs
CCL - if you still have the banana's and milk have you tried baking the banana in the milk with peanut/almond butter and having for a dessert? I've not tried it but seen Blogalaties on YouTube make it and it looks really nice
Princess - Glad you're feeling better and nice that you treated yourselfwhat was Joy like? I would like to go and see it, the trailer looks good
Bob - Me and hubby are going to make a "date night" jar. Basically what you do is get and old jar and write on pieces of paper things you would like to do/where you would like to go (you could do things for the family and get your son to put ideas in too) and then once a week/month pick something to do. That way then it is a bit of a surpriseWe put some in for days when we didn't have much money like having a movie night with each other and things like that
If you want to go out it could be walking to the park as a family and having a picnic or something
Yorkshire - sending hugs, I know what you mean about it going too quick! It seems to have flown by!!
DNMS - Hope the cold goes away soon.
Cowboymum and Vickthestick - Welcome
Feeling a bit better today, I actually got some sleep tonight and although I am at work today I had a lay in because I didn't start until 10. I stuck to what I said and at 9 I ran myself a nice bath, had a lovely soak and a sing song, got into bed and read a book. When hubby come to bed we started watching a film and I actually drifted off to sleep and it must of only been about 11.30 so quite pleased with that

Afternoon Gang,
Thanks to LaE for starting the thread
Talking of random museums (Determined), has anyone been to the Fan Museum in London? It is actually quite interesting
Hope everyone is ok, hugs to those that need them….hello to new posters
Today I have/will:
• Meals from storecupboard
• Checked online banking – no change
• Checked investment and re-invested
• Watch my ebay site obsessively – I managed to clear out a couple of things to sell….old WW materials, and someone has bid on one of them
• Read papers online
• Not going out, so will be having an NSD
• Need to write up a couple of procedures for work – not getting any extra for doing it but, it it is on my objectives (relates to my bonus) and it will help when I hand over (less to try and remember)
• I really should continue with operation ‘Sort out the paperwork’
I think that is about my lot for today – I really should get on with ‘things’

Hi all
I haven't been around for a while, but I'm successfully procrastinating on some work I have to finish off
January is going to be tight for me purely because in November/early December I ran up a £530 credit card bill which I'm paying next week. I know half of it was new car tyres (which were needed, but I'd wiped out my savings the month before!) but I can't remember the rest.
Today I will top up the car and get the horse's veg so I'm not tempted to go out shopping tomorrow. We did our food shop for the week yesterday.
Hoping to list some things on eBay later (taking advantage of the penny offer) but I have to finish that work first :rotfl:0 -
Hi Sunday Savers,
Lazy start to the day, as a quick peek out at the rain established that it was not fit weather for walking round a gorge & picnicking. Bah! Anyway, have been quite a useful engine so far:
*Loaded washer for cheap overnight wash tonight.
*Talked to mr f about how we need to apply the 'Will it make the boat go faster?" theory to stepping up our efforts re the Car Fund.
*Did rubber lamb duty. Roast dinner on Fri. Have divvied up leftovers to make shepherd's pie tonight & lamb madras tomorrow. Also enough for sandwiches, a modest amount of soup & the bones are in the slow cooker simmering into stock.
*Made curry paste to get ahead. No red wine vinegar in pantry so I used half cider vinegar & half home made blackberry vinegar. Saved buying another bottle & it looks fine.
*Made tomorrow"s packed lunch.
*Not an NSD as popped out for root ginger & spread, but nothing else will be spent today.
*Sort through pile of magazines I was given & photograph some of them for ebay.
*Free leisure activities as I really do need to get this library book finished & returned.
Positive vibes being sent to all those returning to work tomorrow.

DNMS - Great to hear you've started the socks! Just wanted to reassure you that the fiddliness of the small needle size does become much less of a problem when the knitting has grown a bit. The first 3 or 4 rows of rib are definitely the worst, with getting the circle established. Once you've got to the K every row stage & have a few cms of knitting to weigh the needles down a bit in your hands, I promise it will feel easier.
