Barclaycard - converting Platinum to Hilton Hhonors?

The plot thickens. On the Hilton card page 'best suited for customers who' section, they've taken away the part that said existing customers are ineligible. However, the header now says "best suited for new customers who", so it could be something or nothing. I've reached out to BC on Facebook for clarification.

Hmm, their eligibility checker still says no to existing customers, including partner cards. https://letmechoose.barclaycard.co.uk/?source=productpages
Also, in response to Adindas' earlier question about what's so good about the card - the free night is the main benefit here. This can be worth around £250 if used well, which is 33% return on your £750 spend, an excellent deal.
Of course, some will say it's only a true £250 return if you'd have otherwise spent £250 on the hotel room, which is a good point. However, the chance for some to stay in more aspirational properties is worth it alone (the cert could be used at Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, which is regularly $1,000+ per night!).0 -
I got my Hilton at the end, and I have two other Barclaycard (one recently converted to the cashback duo).
I was told that the policy has changed to one Barclaycard and one partner card issued by Barclaycard, however the systems needs to be still reprogrammed so you may get an automatic decline in the online application. You just log a cal and they will resolve it at their end.0
