Although the very recent article at HFP states Barclaycard have indeed now changed their rules but have not updated their website to reflect this... I guess time will tell.Best Regards,

There are some more recent comments on the HFP article, from today, where people claim to have been approved for the Hilton card alongside their regular one. No news yet on whether conversion is going to be allowed (as of last night I don't seem to qualify for it when applying directly online)0

has anyone had any luck recently in having a product change or secondary card application for a Partner card as implied by a comment on the headsforpoint website?0

No, in fact I got a decline for HHonors and a letter saying that they hadn't processed or credit checked the application, as I was an existing cardholder, this was about three months ago.
So, I instantly closed my account (wasn't ideal, as it'd been open for over ten years), citing the fact that I wanted the HH card, to see if they could do a product switch - they said no, I'd have to apply again after waiting six months.
I tested the water after one month, for the Hilton card again, and was instantly accepted with a ludicrously high credit limit. I would have probably waited, but only have the luxury of a UK address for a little while longer, so it was now or never!0 -
Please note it's not possible to apply for a new Barclaycard if you already have a credit card provided by us, including one of our partner cards.
Johnno grey areas there John.
Indeed but what sometimes happen is that their system did not or fail to check whether you have card with them or not. Also there could be an IT glitch.
But the cost of trying it is one credit search ....0 -
Barclaycard systems are slicker than that ime adindas..0

I have got a definitive answer: Barclaycard will soon allow to have one regular Barclaycard and one Partner one (e.g like the Hilton's one), however the online system have yet to be updated and you will still be rejected if applying.
You cannot product change from a Barclaycard to a Partner Card.0 -

- You get HHonor point if you are staying @Hilton frequently, but there are a lot of Hotel worldwide elsewhere similar class and condition to Hilton and your chance to get a better deal or even bargain is higher if you are not restricting yourself to Hilton Hotel.
- Accommodation booking for work, normally the travel team in your company will book hotel and pay for it directly, so you will not get point.
- HHonors points in Avios? well again restricting yourself to a handful of airlines which are well known to be not competitive when the price is concerned.
- No reference to cashback.
Unless you belong to a handful of multi millionaires where status are more important than finding the best vfm, what benefit you will get with this creditcard, What I have been missing here ??? Keep in mind that multi millionaires of these type do not visit MSE.0 -
No idea.
With regards to why having the HHonours, for me is another travel card (I have BA Amex, Lloyds Avios, Amex Rewards, Emirates MBNA) as I travel often for pleasure and work. I do often use a specific Hilton resort for pleasure in a specific holiday destination, and this card give you automatic status and the free night certificate. It has no fee, so why not? I am not restricting myself to Hiltons only, but if at any point in time is convenient to stay there, with this card you get added benefits.
At the end of the day, you can convert the HHonors points in Avios as well.0
